DL and Mixed Emotions

Wow, Saturday was really good! The week before we didn’t do well at all. We got 6th place outta 7. We made some changes in the music and really worked on dynamics and it sounds soo much better. It was just a good day

Only problem is that we lost our narrarator. So we had like a day to replace him. We decided that Mike, who was on the school news and handles a lot of the recording stuff, would record the story onto a cd and then we’d just play it when we’d play. Never have to worry about s/o not coming to rehearsal. We thought it was okay.

We got in the gym for the 1st time that morning for an hour. Fucking school needs to let us use it for more than 1 hour of the entire season. We NEED to practice getting on and off the gym floor so we aren’t penelized for that anymore. We’re stuck in the small cafeteria and with 38 of us all with equipment, there’s no way we can. We barely fit in there as it is. You know, we’re not gonna fuck up the precious new gym floor anymore than the athletes or people passing thru their during passing periods you gay ass fuck of an administration. I shake my fist in anger towards you!

So anyways. The bus ride down was fun too. Fanno was singing sooo loud and almost dancing in his seat. He had his arms going everywhere. I had my digital camera again and I recorded him doing it. We took a lot that morning. Some are really good. When we got to the school (it was the one we were at for state finals last year) and got to our homeroom, Pete immediately laid on the floor. Shawn laid down on top of him for who knows why but I got a pix of that. I showed Shawn and he took my camera and took a pix of Mr Nelson when he got in. I’m sure he was trying to get one of the girl who showed us the room b/c they all thought she was hot. If you zoom in a little, the spot angle the pix was taken, it looks like Brad could be giving Tilf head. It’s funny. We showed Brad this later and he laughed…

I got one of Dan too. It’s pretty good. Pete changed into his beater and I tried to get a pix of him before he was changed completely b/c he still had his harness than line and we all know how hot those are, but i got it at the same time he pulled the shirt down, but it’s still good.

Crystal and Kev were there. So we talked to them a lot before. Then had to go to warm up so we didn’t see them again til before awards. In warmup tho, we heard the part in the 2nd piece, it was sooo funny. "Opening the door, little by little…" Mike put so much emphasis on that, everyone laughed. We had a really good performance too. The crowd and the judges seem to like it.

We’re done performing and take everything almost to the door to load everything back up. They told us to go get our shoes and stuff but our homeroom was soo far away from where we were, i didn’t wanna go, besides I already had my sandals (i stuck them under the mallekat with s/o else’s. I didn’t even realize how cold it was earlier when we got there that it was still gonna be cold out. I shoulda had someone grabbed mine off the desk when they got theirs b/c damn it was freezing. But I’m glad I didn’t go b/c Cory was around.

Oh god Cory…I got pix of him and tilf when they got on the bus when we were leaving to explain what happened. We originally tied for 3rd and were only a couple points shy of 1st. We made at least a 12 point jump from the weekend before. That’s a lot for one week. (Only 2 rehearsals). BUT instead of actually tying with who ever was, we got a 10 pt penelty for the recording. No one knew we couldn’t have a pre-recorded thing playing. Mr Nelson was like "I sorta kinda thought it might be illegal but we took a chance and now we know" Chad Ventimiglia’s sister is gonna do it for us now. So I dunno if having a girl read it will be as effective as a mike was, but her voice is sorta low and husky so who knows. Maybe it’ll be okay.

On the way home, Dan went home with his parents, so did Ryan. Nikki wasn’t feeling well so she slept a little. I dunno how she could, half the people were being loud as fuck and i wanted to shoot then and then kick them several times just for fun. I played memory on my cell phone for at least 2 hours. Sometimes I did pretty good. Other times that game owned me. And that made me sad. When Nikki was awake I found the text message thing on there so we typed to each other and passed it back and forth b/c it’s not like we’d be able to hear each other. At one point, Pete’s like It’s too hot back here so off went his shirts, followed by his pants (which is nothing new b/c there’s usually a no-pants-party for most of the bus rides) but no shirt is new and I could see that from where I was sitting. Oh man. I had the phone to i typed ‘I want him. now. I mean…NOW" so yeah…that’s definitely back.

When we got home, there was another big surprise.  I brought in a timpani and headed back out to get s/t else and Sam stopped me in the middle of the doorway to outside. When she was done talking, I turned to keep walking and here comes Aj walking in with Steve. 1st thought, whoa! what the hell?! 2nd thought, oh god!

It was okay when I was bringing stuff in it was okay b/c we weren’t by each other, but once we were done unloading, I had to go back to the band room and it was just weird. I went to go say s/t to Nikki and she walked outside the band room to where other people and him were standing. When we came back in, I went around the timpanis to the left, he was on the right. there were people standing in his way so I see him move over get around them and I hurried up to pass by before him and then Pete moves out in front of me so I had to stop really fast not to walk into him and then go around so I could leave. It was weird. Part of me wants him to come back but most of me doesn’t b/c of the awkwardness like that. He can’t come back yet, if he does. Not yet. I’m not ready for that.

But yesterday was fun. I hope this coming weekend is just as good but no penelty!
