[[109]] fan freaking tastic.

I had the BEST (note the sarcasm) wake up call this morning.  First of all, my father barges into my room where i am sleeping mostly naked because it’s 900 degrees outside.  Secondly he tells me that my doctor is on the phone
(I had a pap smear about a month ago), so I roll out of bed and pick up the upstairs extension and the doctor starts talking, not realizing that my father did not hang up the downstairs extension and was probably listening to our conversation.  He hung up about halfway through and then asked me why the doctor was calling.  I kindly told him that it was nothing to worry about.

It turns out that there is a rough spot on my cervix which the nurse likened to cauliflower.  This has apparently been caused by mild dyspasia which can be caused by HPV.  Basically, there are pre-cancerous cells on my cervix and I have to go back for another pap in 6 months. Awesome.  The nurse proceeded to give me the condom shpeel.  I know I should use condoms even though I’m on birth control…but they are expensive.  And no fun.  And Zachary was tested prior to us becoming sexually active so I wasn’t worried.

Of course first thing I do is look up mild dysplasia on the internet.  It actually calmed me quite a bit.  It should clear up on it’s own and could be caused by a lot more than HPV.  Although I still plan on getting the HPV shot because I don’t want cancer.  Anyway, I just plan to get the HPV shot, and go back for another pap and hope for the best.

Pray for me, or something.
