Spoke too soon…

So last week i mentioned that we had some changes happen in the office, such as my raise and so forth…well we also got a new employee. She will handle the graduate programs we have here and when i met her i thought ” wow, she’s umm certainly ..different”. Well call her Lola..Well Lola worked in the prison system for over 18 years..and know you know it takes a special woman to work in a prison. She fits the role though…about 6 ft tall, short manish haircut, no makeup, and looks like she could take me two in 2 secs. Well as far as her attitude she seemed very laid back, very relaxed, easy going with everyone…see its no the norm around here. Everyone is pretty much to themselfs, very softspoeken and tries to be as professional as possible..which gets on my nerves sometimes. Well this woman..is LOUD, SWEARS like a sailor and could care less about othrs opinions…
Nows thats all good and all but the one thing that gets under my skin more than anything is employees abusing lunch time ( taking 2-3 hr lunches) and coming in late and leaving early. Well since day one this woman started leaving 20 mins early..EVERYDAY!!! My assistant and i would just look at each other whenever she would leave and it was always 20 mins or 30 mins early ( her times is from 7-4). Well she was caught once on the elevator by the assist dean and another time someon needed her at 3:45 and she was gone…soooo a meeting was called..she was confronted about it and her firt statement was ” I was just following the office culture”… Wow! Really, did you just say that???!! She’s a hot mess…and ofcourse im sure she think i ratted her out..whatever..oh lord let this go away!!!
