random/thoughts

Hello, hello!  Had my first session at the gym today, it was fab!  I got a program set up, and I’ve paid for a year so I’m all set.  I actually felt quite good afterwards, and I know it’ll be worth it.  I’ve become a bit lazy in the last 2 years- thanks to getting married and moving overseas.  Hopefully this will get me back on track, and maybe I’ll meet some cool people along the way too.

So this new layout thing is interesting, I’m not sure whether I like it yet.. I think I do.  I’ve switched to it for the time being.  It’s not like I’ve been spending a lot of time writing here anyway what with all the Uni papers I have to submit.  By the time I’m through with them I’m sick of looking at the goddam computer screen…goooo figure.

We got broadband!  Well, we’ve ordered broadband finally and it’s waiting for us at the post office.  Unfortunatly (or fortunatly, depending on how you want to look at it) today is a public holiday and the post office isn’t open.  This means we’ll have to pick it up sometime tomorrow or when we have the time.  I got scheduled to work all day tomorrow and wednesday which is kind of nice for a change!  Well, dollar wise it’s great, but I have so much other work to catch up on they couldn’t have timed it any worse.  Gees I’m being wishy-washy. lol

Off to Tasmania on the 5th of May to visit the in-laws, I’m really looking forward to it.  It’ll be nice just to get a break from this rediculous city and to spend some time with Stephen.  He’s going to be busy in june, I probably won’t even see him for a month.  I imagine that’s when I’ll be spending a lot more time on here, writing and chatting with friends.  Mind you, my friends seem pretty busy these days as well and I haven’t heard much of them lately.  Andrea is…..well, I don’t know what she’s doing, but I’ve e-mailed her several times and not heard anything back.  She claims to be busy but..I just don’t see it.  She’s finished university (she graduated at the end of last semester) and only working part time at Staples.  How busy can she possibly be?  She promised to call me like 4 months ago and I haven’t heard a thing.  I’m on the verge of giving up.  She forgot it was mine and Steve’s anniversary in March (she was my maid of honour), and when I mentioned it she was like “oh.  cool.”  That, to be honest, sort of bothered me.  I mean, considering she was my best friend for 22 years of my life and we were closer to sisters than friends, I’d have expected something a little more than just  “cool.”  Is that asking too much?  Maybe I’m just being self centered, I don’t know.  I’d try talking to her, but the physical distance along with the emotional distance lately makes things extremely difficult.  I don’t know what to do.  I miss my girl friends.

Anyways, I suppose that’s it for now.  I’m supposed to be writing a letter to my future child in the style of Annie Dillard- I”ve got 700 words down, need a break.  I hope all is well for everybody else.  Will be back soon.

.xox.

Hey babe! Sounds like you’re feeling refreshed and awakened from going to the gym! With my gym closing down, we put out money together and purchased a $3000 cross trainer. Man that thing kills ya, but it’s worth it. Regarding your friends, man I know how hard it must be for you keeping in touch with everyone! Someone of my friends only live an hour away from me and I have trouble….

Staying in touch with them. I guess friendship is 2-way and should never be 1-sided. It must be so hard from you Kris, and I guess things will be easier once you have “aussie girlfriends”. Take care, and keep your chin up babe!!
