Nobility

“There are three things we cry for in life – things that are lost, things that are found, and things that are magnificent.”

“It was strange to realize that, in one sense, all we are is our voice.”

“‘It’s an update of the rich man who poses as a pauper and finds the princess. But fuck that princess shit – we’re both kings.'”

“So much of being adult is reconciling ourselves with the awkwardness and strangeness of our own feelings. Youth is the time of life lived for some imaginary audience.”

There are so many traits possible… Traits written about in books, movies, stories. Anything. Beautiful, ugly, terrible traits. But how many things can we find in ourselves? How many things can we possibly create in ourselves?

We find what we want to find. The list never ends. People change so much.

I’ve read that last quote somewhere before… And why is it that youth is spent so differently? I mean, there are still all the same feelings, they just don’t hold as much gravity as they do later in life. Is it really some kind of heightened consciousness as we grow older, is it that we are more intelligent, or do we just seem to dwell more and more on things past as we realize we’re ageing?

It kind of makes me think of this one X-Files episode…where these clones were made like 10 times smarter and stronger, etc. as regular humans. But they all defected in the end because along with their super-strength and super-intelligence, they also had super-psychosis. So…maybe as we learn more, we are just more susceptible to going crazy. Hmm. It’s a thought anyway.
