A Port St. Lucie, Florida mother says her five-year-old special needs son was voted out of his classroom by his peers at the behest of the teacher.
Five-year-old Alex Barton will be starting his summer vacation early.
His mother doesn’t want him to to return to school after what allegedly happened in class at Morningside Elementary Wednesday afternoon.
"I’ll never be able to send him to school again without worrying if something is going to happen," said Melissa Barton.
She admits he’s had behavior problems, and can be difficult at times, and says he’s undergoing tests to determine if he suffers from Autism and other disorders.
Barton claims a Wednesday incident pushed the lines of discipline into the realm of abuse.

Its stories like this that has me concerned about my own sons future, i can only imagine what they put that little boy through. some members of my family dont understand why im so protective of him…well this is just an example of why.
I know i wont be able to protect him from stuff like this forever though, thats what worries me.

I’m still kindof reeling from the last entry, i know your future isnt set in stone thankfully but it really struck a cord with me for some reason.
So i’m really taking initiative to change my life, instead of bitching like i have been doing i am actively seeking a better job now and a new place to live.
from now on im just gonna do what i have to do in order to move forward. being stuck in a crappy situation your not happy with is not an option im willing to take anymore.
thats ridiculous, i couldnt believe it when i read it. i dont blame you for being protective its a mothers job, x x

I really like and admire your attitude about making changes to your life instead of “bitching” about it. I need to be pro-active and do it myself 🙂 And goodness, I really hope your son doesn’t have situations like the one above…

thats crazy.i was just talking to my mom about autistic kids and how the number of them just keeps going up,and people are still not accepting it and understanding it fully.its ridiculous because most of the kids even though they lack some other skills are very talanted in many other aspects. i dont blame you for being overprotective either. im glad you’re taking that initiative=)
