The Dream Board is working, and so are we!!!

From all the books and tapes I’ve read on Manifesting and Attracting the things you want in your life, one step is to write it on an Image Board. Writing it down gives it to the Universe to figure out how to bring it into your life. I’ve done that with some of my major goals…
 
The other day I was looking at my Image Board and wondering how come I hadn’t located land yet. I wanted it to be a reasonable size, tillable, affordable, and it would need to be able to have a well and a septic tank added. I’ve had this concept on my board for some time… let’s say less than a year though. I had looked on line, in rural newspapers and magazines. I had driven around looking here and there in the locality I was interested in. I talked to friends and let them know that I was interested in having some land. I figure it’s a foundation piece to going Off the Grid. However, after the heat of this past summer, I was beginning to wonder if it just wasn’t in the cards for me here.
 
On the drive over to a friends one day recently, I noticed a For Sale sign was still posted on some land that I looked at a number of months ago. I talked to my friend and we decided to go there again and see how big the property was and how much they were asking for it… too much. Mostly what I found was the asking price for parcels of land was more than I could really afford. Part of my goal was that it needed to be affordable, and that meant for me. Later that day we decided to drive around some more after I had done quite an extensive online search. We looked at a few more places; placed some more calls, left messages, sent emails and heard back from just one…
 
Back to work for the week and I thought that the effort was over. Mid-week I received a call from an elderly gentleman who was selling a parcel of lots that came near to one acre. The asking price was affordable. After a bit of consultation, an offer was made and accepted.
 
Now the vision of living off the grid is coming closer. Growing organic vegetables in hoop houses can become a reality. Generating those streams of income can help to become self sufficient and to bring us closer to achieving one of our dreams.
 
We had a nice rain the other night and I wanted to see how the drain off looked. Saturday we decided to check out the property… 
 

 
It’s a treed lot, so it’ll need to be cleared a bit. I’m glad that it has trees though because I love trees. I’ve missed them so much since I moved away from Huron County. Trees, green, fresh air are three elements of what is important in my life. Walking through the woods that day, I could smell the fresh oxygen in the air. It made the little kid in me come back out. I missed you, self.
 

 
There are some paths or areas that are naturally cleared a bit.
 

 
Other areas have more of a meadow look and feel to them. We want to leave as much of the natural feel of the area and build the desired structures in harmony with the environment.
 

 
This morning the light was shining on it brightly and making it look so beautiful… I think my heart can be at peace here.
 

 
There’s lots to be done. The land corners need to be surveyed. A temporary electric post put in to give access to electricity. Then the land can be cleared as needed. We’re hoping to build a full size hoop house first to grow fresh organic vegetables and hydroponic fish. Guess we’ll need some sort of facilities. Good thing we have a Luggable Loo…
Guess we’re good to go now.
 

 
Guess I’ll need some farm boots too, so I can keep the dirt from one place there and not have it make all my other shoes become farm shoes by default.
