Home is
In life have you ever identified with a place so closely that it defines who you are? Seeing a picture of this special place or just being there gives you a peaceful feeling, like you are complete, like everything is going to be OK. For most people, it’s probably the home they grew up in; where countless memories are shared. This entry isn’t to share mine (I have two) and whether or not this is a third, is too early to tell. We’re in the new house now. It’s been one week and 2 days and it feels fantastic. I can’t think of anything that has quite felt like this. We are good here. I have had the best nights sleep since we got here. So peaceful, quite, calm. I feel good here. So comfortable. Like home. I know we made the right decision. Unpacking is a never ending fight, but we’ll get there. Wedding planning has taken over my life so getting settled in the new house has taken second. Weddings need lots of attention. I hate to say it, but I will be happy when it’s all said and done. Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying it. Trying on dresses, looking at hair, flowers, cakes…. but I miss having my life. We don’t go out to eat, no weekend trips to the city yet, no baseball games yet. We’re broke. Not only are weddings time consuming, but terribly expensive. I haven’t even been to my favorite local bar in 3 months. I will be happy to be married. Once wed. We’re about two months away. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a great time. Party, party. No doubt about that. I hope my family comes, but I’m not sure they will. With air, rent a car, hotel, it can be a $1000 weekend. That’s a lot. I understand. OK only had a min to write. Off to the gym!
wow. house and wedding! so exciting. So glad your new home is so comfortable.
