MALIBU
Sorry I had to cut the last entry short. Back to my new car..
It’s a 2010 Chevy Malibu and I absolutely love it! Especially compared to my last car — a 2000 Chevy Metro with 109,000 miles — this is like a dream! I am totally full of myself right now. My FIRST new car that I bought and paid for, well will pay for slowly but surley. I put $5,000 down that I’ve been saving for years. I did it all by myself. My dad wouldn’t even co-sign. It felt good that I was able to save that much $ and then actually use it for what I was planning to use it for all along. It all worked out perfectly.
My dad helped me look for the perfect car for me and I’m glad we were able to do it together. It was nice that we shared this moment together. He was so proud of me and told me a million times. It seems like things are really coming together for me and for Mark too. We are doing good these days.
That little piece of crap Metro taught me how to be humble. While all my friends had sweet new cars that their parents got them, I had a tiny little car that could hardly keep up. It made me not be shallow and to just be happy for what I had. That car was my prized posession. The greatest thing I owned. Now I have a much more beautiful ride and it’s a little hard to be humble when you’re SO proud of yourself. Haha. I bought it on Friday night and when I woke up on Saturday morning I walked out on the balcony to look at it. Then every time I saw it outside I said, "Man, that’s a sweet ride! Who’s new car is THAT?" haha. Mark was laughing at me all day. I asked him how long it took for him to stop being full of himself after buying his new car. He said, "For me about a week, but for you it will probably be a month!" I love this car!
It’s silver which I wasn’t thrilled about since my last car was silver too, but I can live with it. The interior is a pretty gray and at night the lights in the dash and radio and a pretty blue. I love it. It’s A LOT bigger and a lot more car to get used to for me. It will just take time.
I will be excited to get up and drive it to work tomorrow.
Oh and Saturday when I went out to my car, a bird took a dump right on the windshield! Ha.
So it was an especially good weekend. Friday after I got in from buying my car, Mark and I went out for a few beers. I unexpectedly got a little drunk and felt like shit at 7 a.m. Saturday. That’s really early for me for a weekend but I couldn’t sleep anymore and had to get up. We ran around town and did an went shopping for his neices birthday and I was happy to get out and drive my car. We got her a cute pink watch and some fun socks that she likes. We always get her really nice gifts that I think she likes a lot. Mark and I were going to go out last night but I wasn’t really up for it so we made a steak and shrimp dinner with squash and zuchinni and baked potatoes. Yum, it was delicious! It’s nice to stay in, just him and I, sometimes. I went to bed super early and woke up nice and refreshed. Today we just went to church and now the Redskins (my team) and the Eagles (Mark’s team) are playing. We made a bet, if I win he washes the dishes for 2 weeks and if he wins I have to make and pack his lunch for 2 weeks…. Redskins are winning! Hahaha!
I think I look weird in this picture, but the car looks good! 😉
Old car was good while it lasted, but it was time to go! I will not miss the no power steering, windows, locks, trunk release… power nothing really, and it tops out at 85 MPH. Maybe you will make some other kid very happy, hopefully for no more than $500 which is what they gave me for it. Good bye!
Congrats on the new car!!!!!!! Sounds like you had a nice weekend 🙂
