Between Sundays
Today was our last football game. This time of year is always bittersweet. It’s sad to see the season pass you by but it’s nice to have your weekends back again! Mark will actually get to sleep in tomorrow for the first time since August! Can you believe that? He works seven days a week during the season! But when you love what you do, you never work a day in your life.
The team didn’t do so well this year. To say the least. I think we’re ending 6th in the conference, there’s 9 teams. Oh well I guess, there’s always next year. I wonder if we’ll even still be here to see how things unfold next fall…. we’ll just have to wait and see.
The best part about this season was that Mark’s little brother is on the team and Mark’s mom came to every home game. It was so nice for us to be able to sit and chat and get to know each other better on a personal level. We never get time to talk alone so this was a treat for me. I really love spending time with her and just talking about anything! She’s such a great person. Unlike a mom I ever had. Mark’s brother didn’t do so hot this season, so I’m just hoping he doesn’t quit. If he does, then Mark’s mom will never come anymore.
I can’t wait until Thanksgiving to go see his family. And mine too, I guess. It will feel wonderful to have a day off work! My first paid day off in 7 months! Thank goodness!
You would think Mark is the younger brother! They’re half brothers and he’s so much bigger then Mark. haha. This is us after a BIG game. We won 50-37 against a school that was picked to win the conference. I love this picture of us. I’d like to get it framed. What a great day and a great memory that goes along with just this picture. This game was televised locally and we DVR-ed it. When we got home after the game Mark and I watched the whole first half! That’s how excited we were about this win. I didn’t get to bed until nearly 2 am and this was a Thursday night game. I sure was tired the next day at work, but it was worth it!
