It’s a….
BOY!!!! I knew as soon as the tech knew lol. She was having a hard time getting the angle because he had his feet tucked up and the shot she was looking at when she went "AHA" was from the back. I had a feeling she wasn’t seeing girl parts from behind lol. Phil said he expected me to be disappointed because he knew I really wanted a sister for Riley, and while that part makes me sad (LOVE MY SIS!) I’m surprisingly excited about a boy. Before even having Riley I always pictured myself with all girls so it’s kind of foreign territory.
However, Riley and I went shopping the very next day and got some adorable outfits!! I’m super excited because boy clothes seem to say "Mommy" on them a lot more. All Riley’s stuff is Daddy’s girl and Daddy’s princess and I love Daddy. Funny considering how much of a mama’s girl she is 😛 A couple people from moms group and even a girl from the message boards have offered me clothes already. So exciting!
Of course we’re already talking names. Nothing even close to set in stone and we won’t know THE ONE until he’s born, but so far Brendan, Samuel, Patrick, and Lucas are on there. Louis would be the middle name with all of those except Lucas, we’d probably use Charles in that case. Surprisingly all those names are listed under Irish origin! With Riley I only looked at Irish names and it was on purpose, those are all coincidence. Louis is both Phil and his dad’s middle name.
We met one of the MWs we didn’t last time. Before the offices were split between two locations and you saw one set of MWs or the other, but they’ve since all combined. A couple of my coworkers didn’t like her much, but I thought she was super nice and reminds me of the doula who runs our playgroup. She was super nice to Riley, too, and spent most of the time talking to her and reassuring her (Riley hates my appoints and people touching me). Funny how the way people treat my daughter becomes a major point in how I judge them. I’m talking to you random stranger at the mall who ignores my child when she says hi.
I’m 75% sure this won’t be our last kid. I don’t know why I feel that way, after the u/s it just felt like we’re not done yet. Phil even is talking about another in a non-theoretical way lately. So much fun, I just don’t know what to do with myself lol.
Oh here’s the crib set I want so bad. This has been my absolute FAVORITE since before we knew Riley was a girl. I never found a girl nursery I loved, but this does it for me:
I LOVE dinosaurs, one of the rompers I bought has a triceratops on it and I found a onesie in Riley’s closet I’d originally bought for a friend, but it was too small for her son. It’s cartoon dinos in construction gear lol.
19 weeks! Halfway next week:
Yay!!! I really like the name Lucas Charles. 🙂

Congrats, Mama!! I love Sam and like Brendan okay, too. It’s funny how quickly you hate so many names when you are a teacher. Haha. But really, Sam is where it’s at. =)

Congrats on a boy! Like you I’ve got a almost 3 year old little girl and a 7 month old boy! I too wanted another girl, but little boys are so much fun and so different!
