After 18 weeks
I think I finally have hit my 2nd wind or 2nd tri energy burst or whatever. Took long enough. I think it helps I had a really good weekend working with the boys. We went out Saturday night for a coworker’s birthday and they ragged on me for drinking O’Douls lol. When I go in this afternoon the were all "OMG, you were soooo drunk last night, you must be so hungover today". Hardy har. Jeff did let me have a sip of his real beer for old times sake 😛 I can’t wait until next summer and WINE. On top of actually being in a good mood I have my 20 min a day cleaning plan from Pinterest ready to start this week. House maintenance has sorely lacked these last months.
So as you may or may not have heard, we had a huge snowstorm out of nowhere last weekend. Everyone is getting ready for Halloween and crap and BAM, no power. We were out for 2 days, ugh. The first day we went to SIL’s for lunch and stayed until 5 or so. When we got home it was dark in the house and Riley kept tripping on everything (we had moved the furniture to finally finish painting the living room) and it was down to 58 degrees. I snapped and told Phil I couldn’t stay with her there not knowing how long it was going to be so her and I and the contents of our fridge/freezer went to my parents’ in Maine. Where they got next to nothing. It worked out because trick or treat got postponed to today (11/6) and I was working and missed it, so I at least had a chance to take R to a few houses in Maine. She loved dressing up and running around with the kids in the dark!
The power came back on for us Monday (Halloween) but R and I stayed the night to trick or treat and then I had to work Tuesday at 2, so that was a long day. We drove back and I put her down for a nap and got ready for work. Long, discombobulated week. They say it was so bad because it was so much heavy snow and the trees all mostly had their leaves still which was taking them down. In the maybe 2 mile drive to the highway on ramp we passed 3 downed lines and a pole down. Scary stuff!
This week is a busy one! I worked this weekend and am on tomorrow, too – BOO. I’m mostly annoyed by that because they wanted to schedule my ultrasound tomorrow, but obviously I couldn’t do it, so the ultrasound is TUESDAY!!!! Everyone at work pretty much just found out I’m pregnant and don’t believe I’m almost halfway already lol. When they asked about the u/s and I told them nobody believed it was so close. Wednesday we have Riley’s 18 month portraits and we’re going to try for a family one this time, it will be our first! We haven’t been to a studio since she has been mobile (her 12 month were taken by a friend at her birthday party) so it should be interesting. Then Thursday I have my MW appointment and holy cow, there goes another week.
My baby is soooooo big 🙁 She is picking up words like cah-razy and uses yes and no pretty much correctly, it’s awesome. She normally watches half an hour of TV in the morning and the other day she slept in late so it was Bubble Guppies on Nick….now when she gets up she says "Bubble gup gup" and if I say no she drags me to stand in front of the entertainment center where we keep the remote and nods "yes" lol. Phil showed me a video when I got home tonight of her trying to diaper her stuffed otter. She carries it around and it has its own blanket she wraps it up in. Apparently while he made lunch she got a diaper out of the bag and was saying "baby" while she tried to put it on the otter. She has also started saying her name, which makes it hard to scold her lol. She says her name back to me in the same tone I use and it takes all I’ve got not to laugh. On her half birthday I took her to IHOP for breakfast, that was so much fun! She ate almost all her breakfast, plus some of mine. I put a little syrup on her plate, which I’ve never done before, she she dipped her pancake like she’d been doing it her whole life. She was in a great mood that morning and the waitresses LOVED her! They were short staffed and had a huge rush since a lot of people still didn’t have power and school was canceled, but they kept walking by to see her smile and say "hi" – like every time lol.
Anyway, I’d write about upcoming stuff, but then I’d probably just come on here later and write about what had happened and I’d just be repeating myself. Quick, before I pass out:
We made pumpkin bread! She spooned a lot of the batter into the pan herself
Halloween!
And my 17 week belly – it has definitely gotten bigger the last 2 weeks!
You look great and baby girl is adorbz!! Miss you around here!
