The Passion of The Christ and my crazy momma ^^
Well, I finally got to see The Passion Of The Christ, and I have to say that it was well worth the money I paid to see it.
Yes, it is graphic, and yes, it is gory, but I’m glad finally someone got off their duff and did something to show what he actually went through for the world.
Now, everyone who knows me, knows that I’m immesnly conflicted about my faith. I choose to believe there is a god, and I choose to believe in Jesus, however, what I cannot reconsile is how God acts sometimes, and the history behind things.
My mother and I are always at odds with each other because of this. I sometimes can’t believe what’s written. I don’t have that ultimate belief to take aside things and pick and choose. I just can’t.
That’s the reason I want to get back into Greek, so I can read the Septuigent.. But I just can’t hack the Greek. *sighs* I would much rather read it for myself.
But anyway, to get back to the movie, I thought it was awesome. Nothing, save the Devil tormenting him, wasn’t in the gospels. And of course, there’s nice little scenes between Jesus and Mary that are so heart-warming and sweet… and that, truthfully is how I see Mary. Someone who sees her son, likely her most beloved son, going through torture and punishment that no one should. She was warm and caring and utterly tortured by what he went through, and this movie shows that as well.
anyway *sighs* I’ve gotta go. Gonna go to the mall with Momma and Dad. ^^ Joy ^^
