life with the virus

My work place is taking some precautions for this world virus. Normally, there are 4 entrances to the building. Now, limited to 1. Everyone has to step on a bleached mat (gets germs off our shoes), use hand sanitizer, and get our temps taken. If temp is above 100 the person is sent home. If we have contact with anyone who’s been sick in the last 24 hours we have to stay home for 2 days.

So this week my temps have been (94.4), (94.5), (95.9). I got my period today….which made my temp rise. I didn’t know that was a thing, but the internet says it happens (I knew body temp rose if a lady is ovulating). I didn’t realize my body temp was low. I’ve been told the average body temp is 98.6….but read recently that’s no longer the case. The average body temp is lower than 98.6 (can’t remember what the new average is).

While people have been going crazy over toilet paper, we’ve got some before the craze. We have enough for a little while. We have enough food too. I went food shopping the other day, got everything that we normally get.

Doesn’t seem my personal life has been affected much. I hope my life doesn’t either. Hopefully this dies off quickly for others.

Yes. Let’s hope so.

Now THERE is a workplace that is implementing a logical plan. Unlike the local a*&$&les around here, including my office, sending EVERYONE home *until this passes* with ho pay.

@thenerve My specific job, I can’t do at home. I work in a factory. My place makes medical parts (such as pacemakers), technology parts (parts used for tvs, computers, parking meters), stuff for the military. The plan seems to be going well, just a lot of people work at my place (over 300). Only chance my place will get shut down is if it’s government ordered.

@serenadeoliver – Not sure what state you’re in, but in mine, the govmt. has ALREADY ordered it :
