Bachelor Party and Employment

As I write, it is a mellow Sunday afternoon and Ben is throwing a bachelor party. Eight guys are on the patio, in the sun, with the birds chirping, playing group video games. Extension cords, monitors, game boxes, and Nature, smiling benevolently on.

As for me, I have temporarily settled my employment problem. I’m teaching 3 courses at Rutgers, and in the evenings and on weekends have started teaching 5 eight week courses for a little SAT prep company. I’ve also been to Washington to be trained to write test questions for a lovely organization that put me up smack in the middle of Georgetown. (Astarte and Youngster came to party with me one evening). Just got back from another training in NYC, where I spent half the money they’ll pay for the training to take a hotel room in a very inexpensive, but kinda charming, hotel in Grammercy Park. And, I have my first student to tutor privately. Met him today. (One class in the AM, two back to back this evening, and him. Not a quiet day).

I’m still knitting.
