Chicken Noodle Soup
A’s daughter is doing much better today, I’m happy to report, as is her little boy. (He is a bumptious child, so toothbites in the forehead are not likely to be the last incident.)
A’s older son, J., arrived yesterday with his girlfriend, who is interviewing at Parsons tomorrow. It was lovely to see them. J. looked very good, all GQ in black, slimmed down, and with the old charm. We congregated at A’s parents’ house in Staten Island, where all had pizza. His brother was there with the latest grandchild, a cutie of two who, though lively, listens and obeys. It was amazing. I brought out my knitting, which fascinated him, so we played yarn for quite a while.
Just spent a few minutes looking at Chicken Noodle Soup dances on Youtube. This is a dance that originated in Harlem, and it’s just charming. (Not all of the films show real high quality dancing, but everyone is having fun).
Lady K. arrived tonight. She’s going to see a friend in the city, but is leaving her car with us. Though I’m coming down with a cold, I brightened right up and we chattered like crazy till it was time for her bus. How different she feels when I hug her from when she was a little solid two year old. Now 5’8, thin bird bones–she’s still delicious.
Now I’m off to bed to finish a real page turner, A Thread of Grace,by Mary Doria Russell, about the last couple of years of WWII in Italy, featuring Italian Jews, refugee Jews, and the locals who protect them.
Nighty night

I just heard of youtube the other day, I’m going to check it out. Nice you had a good day with family. The book you were reading sounds like a good read. I also think I will check that out lol. Have a good week-end and God Bless.

First time I ever heard of a Chicken Noodle Dance, I must go check this out. Who is the author of A Touch of Grace, that sounds like something I would like to read. Hope you have a great weekend. Catch you later, Alison
