update

Well, the wedding has gone from Oct to Aug… Yes they are moving the wedding up to August. But they are making it very small. Pretty much just family. They plan to have a reception in Oct when they were planning the wedding, which I think is good. Then they will be married, and all relaxed about things… I hope! Right now they just want to be married. The ceremony and all that is secondary.

Dau did buy a dress. Actually the first one she tried on. Oh no, the second. I lied. The first one was a discontinued one for $99 but it was mis-sized or just weird. Didn’t fit at all. The next one was simple. Fiance said “no sequins.” LOL! The dress is plain, elegant and simple. Beautiful. They secured the church for August. They bought white gold bands (no diamonds). THese guys are not making any $ cuz they are both in school. We didn’t think it would be wise to marry before you have a job, but waiting just doesn’t seem right either. Like I told my neighbor, we had hoped someone like this would come around after she graduated from college, but now that he is here, we will take him. We love him like he is our own. I never dreamed I would feel that way about some guy interested in my daughter.

He has an apt he shares with a guy and she is living with her aunt. Her aunt’s dad offered them a place (just a basement apt that they need to install a kitchen into) for $300, which is a deal! It is in a nice enough neighborhood. A little ways from the univ where they need to go every day, but I bet they can even catch a bus if they are smart. They will probalby want to drive, knowing them, but I may suggest they look into public transportation since they are near a major intersection.

Son is working again. He wasn’t getting very many hours, but suddenly he is working double shifts and making a lot in tips. He is pleased. I am pleased. He had to shave his goatee tho, and I was really attached to it. I thought it looked great.

A little girl that ate at the restaraunt with her family recognized him from the spring musical as Gaston. She would not look at him or talk to him. She would not talk to Gaston! I guess he must have been pretty believable bad guy to have such an effect! He is kinda scary looking. If I didn’t know what a sweetie he was, he would be intimidating. he is not so tall, but he is pretty large – not fat, just built well. He made a great Gaston. If he had been taller, it would have been even better, but he was good. Especially they sing about his biceps and how wonderful he is, and son just really fit the role.

I am working very hard. Full time. I wish I had more time to just relax and think. I am training a new person and she is pretty smart. She is catching on, but our system is so stupid. I am going to be gone a few days this summer, esp with dau getting married, so she is going to have to cover the whole job. Scary. But hey, I think she can do it. I really hope so. I hate being tied to this job. But now they are paying me more than ever, and a lot of people recently quit so we are very busy even in our slow season. We may be getting new software though, and that pleases me greatly. What we have now is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever dealt with since getting out of word processing with dos in the 80’s!

Well, I want to go see my BIL’s new kitty and son is feeding him this weekend. I will see if son will take me to see the new kitty! son should be home from work any minute.
