The Boyfriend saga

OK, dau had a lousy bf at the end of jr yr in hs that became very possessive and manipulative. Broke up and still had to put up with him all of sr yr in hs. Finally refused to go to prom w him (she was going to and I said, gimme a break!) Started a friendship with a decent guy who she ended up going out with for a couple months before valentines. Broke up w him. he is a great guy, but he was “in love” with who he thinks dau is, not who she really is. So, now they are not even friends. She can’t stand him. He is still crushing on her, she thinks, and that bothers her a lot. She has bad feelings. She feels he was a jerk to her once he learned that she would not go out with him any more. She just was not impressed.

Before she even broke up w him tho, she got a crush on a guy. She felt very bad about that and tried to shake it off. after she broke up with bf#2, she decided she would not go out with ANYONE. Lo and behold, this guy was different. The things that were important to her (her faith) were important to this guy too. They got together and slowly got to know each other. She never felt that way about a guy and he was very respectful. He never touched her and always acted like a perfect gentleman. Bluntly honest. She was impressed. My computer might have been on the brink cuz I don’t see much for entries about him. She called me a lot. She kept telling herself that she was dreaming, that he didn’t like her cuz he was older, but she really, really was attracted to him.

They began to spend a lot of time together. Hours upon hours talking. She would tell me of their convos. She called me a lot, and emailed me. Two weeks before she came home for the summer, he asked her out. Since she moved home for the summer, she has seen him all but two weekends. he is out of the country now, but he called from Europe today! She will be leaving town w her dad so that will take her mind off things, and he will be back about that next week after she gets back and he will come visit her for the 3rd time this summer. The first time he came to our house, he met our kitty, but it was really time to put kitty to sleep. It was a terrible week and I was unable to function to make supper or anything. We went out. It was a bummer for me. I will tell him that I really was not myself. Maybe he knows already. He knows we put kitty to sleep the day after he left here.

Anyway, dau is only 19. She will be 20 before the yr is over. But he is in his last yr at univ and she is only in her 2nd. She has 2 more yrs and she has lots of scholarship $ that she will not turn her back on. He plans to move away after next year. They talk about everything. I think that unless she loses interest, this will be long term. he is a gem of a guy. Super confident. Just has a lot going for him. they have even talked about how it would affect them if they broke up, even now.
