It turns out my plague was actually little more than a cold. But I was miserable. And nobody would take pity on me. But thanks to my good friend Dayquil, I was able to make the trip back to my parents’ house. And the ride was almost enjoyable, because I was so drugged up.

I spent last week at home, and it was enough for me to know that school is much better. Despite the lack of free for everything. And despite the fact that we got an adorable golden retriever puppy. And we named it Bailey (after Bailey’s Irish Cream), even though I was pushing for Morgan (as in Captain Morgan). We sifted through a lot of names, and sadly, the ones we liked best were all adapted from alcoholic beverages.

I have 2 jobs this summer; one is as a clerical assistant for the dean of engineering. Which is where I am as I write this entry. That fact alone shows how utterly worthless and boring my job is. But I suppose I should feel lucky… People keep paying me (though not well) to sit and surf the internet.

My other job is much cooler– I’m researching fuel something something (I actually have no clue- it’s very chemistry-y and I never actually thought I’d get the job when I applied). My boss is trying to get me working on a jet fuel project she has going, which kicks ass and is going straight onto my resume.
