Starting to Panic

I met with a representative from a restoration company today.  I confess – I started to panic a bit.  Several times.

Time 1:  When he said he had already spoken to my insurance adjustor and gotten the OK to proceed with tearing up the wettest parts of my floors.  Really?  I haven’t spoken to my adjustor since he came to look it over initially – haven’t gotten his report yet.  And this guy already knows more than I do about what’ I’m going to get funds to repair…

Time 2:  When the guy was talking about eventually tearing out ALL the floors and Daddy dearest began saying that wouldn’t be necessary.  I had visions of mismatched wood flooring dancing in my head.

Time 3:  When he wanted to start this Friday – a chore that will talke all day – and I realized I would have to leave my little darlings alone with a sub again.  They are not particularly kind to subs.

This is going to be a BIG project and probably take a long time.  I’m going to be living in constuction hell… and will probably end up having to let them put a lock box on my door so I don’t have to leave my children at school alone with a sub.

Yes, I’d like my warped wood floors fixed and new again.  No, I don’t relish all the bullshi*t and decisions I’ll have to make or living in a torn up house or hotel  Ugh.

On the bright side… this is still the love of my life!

Could be some kind of scam. Better call the adjuster and make sure it’s legit. Willy

Just keep the vision of the completed work in your head. When it will all be completed and peace reigns again…

She’s just gorgeous!! Living with that would be such a pain in the ass. I lived with a wet/torn up/falling down kitchen ceiling for almost 2 mos. this past summer. Good luck!
