Beacuse I WANT to!

Not because you have to, but because you WANT to! Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal… and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

Music:  Sons of Somerled by Steve McDonald (the whole CD – makes me sane)
              ANYTHING sung by Andrea Boccelli

Storms.  Raging storms.  Wind, lightning, thunder. (this is not a request for Florida to get
hit by more hurricanes this year, however)

Drum Circles on the Beach

Books.  All books.  Spending hours in a library or bookstore alone…browsing, reading,
breathing in the smell of the books.

Macaroni and Cheese or Steak N Shake Orange Freezes.  ULTIMATE comfort foods.

Watching the Lion King.  Really.  I’m not kidding.

Pedicures.

Being outdoors on a secluded beach or by a campfire in the woods at night.

Puppy kisses.  Kitty kisses.

Really GOOD chocolate – not US made

Investigating a new place….as simple as a new coffee shop or specialty store or more complicated, like a new piece of Florida….

Looking at scrapbooks and remembering.

Banter – fun and friendly quick paced smart (and smart-alec) conversation.

Motorcycle rides.

Sunsets – over the beach.  Sitting on the beach with a simple picnic and watching the amazingly beautiful Florida sunsets.

There you go….as requested by Energy Alchemist and (somewhat indirectly) by Wanting More!

As for 5 friends I’d like to see do this…..I’m going to weasel out of being specific this time and simply say that I have been enjoying reading everyone’s list immensely and if YOU haven’t done it yet, I’d like to read it!

Wow, cool list!

June 10, 2005

I relate well to storms and being outdoors on a secluded beach. I feel more relaxed just reading your list.

June 10, 2005

Yes, I love these glimpses inside each other too….. nice to know we do share so many common things… perhaps that is why we read each other?

June 10, 2005

Drum circle on the beach!!!!!

June 10, 2005

Amen.

ryn: A few years ago, my friend became a catholic convert, a couple of years later, her husband converted. In fact, I sponsored him. What frequently happens with new converts, because they are so enthusiastic, is they go through a phase of self-righteousness. It usually lasts a year or two, then they realize it, and start to calm down. Well, these 2 not only have not calmed down, they seem to be

getting worse. Her husband now likes to say I’m not a “real” caltholic, and they are forever trying to fix me. Now they are trying to fix my children, probably trying to save them from me. They have joined some pretty radical groups within my church that think they are the only “real” catholics. The members are all new converts supporting each other in trying to save the rest of us. My friend and

her husband have gotten to the point that even the members of these groups are not catholic enough. I feel really sad about this. They were once very kind and loving people and a lot of fun to be around. But I’m realizing that this isn’t going to get better for a very long time, and I’m tired of taking the abuse.

I love storms too. As long as no flying tree limbs are around. 🙂

June 10, 2005

Nice comfort activities.. don’t wish to hard for storms.

June 10, 2005

lets have a bit of fun banter on the beach, around a bonfire, watching the sunset and savoring some really good chocolate maybe sipping on a fave drink. that’ll do it for me! heh. i wouldn’t know who to pick, either. nice way to weasel 😉 i’ll remember it~

June 11, 2005

Very cool list. I like a lot of the same things.

June 11, 2005

Raging storms….great, just great there Sun. As I sit here under a torrent of water, how did I miss mention of Arlene this week? We’re we supposed to get this much? Can I blame you? The mugginess is frizzing Chanel’s hair!!! Have missed you, loved the pics of the new pup, hope you are doing well, my friend.

June 11, 2005

what no people kisses?

June 11, 2005

I would love to spend a few days in the circle of all the lovely things you mentioned. Now I know how you tolerate the hectic pace of your life. You are a wonder, you know.

June 11, 2005

Cool list! I’ll cobble something together for my next entry….

Hmm,a list of comforts is that what this is? Love,Monica

June 11, 2005

this is nice. i might do this. what in the world is a steak and shake orange….. whatever you said? it sounds mighty odd. *nods head up and down*

Thanks for your visit. I agree that Northwest Florida is a bit out of the way; but that’s why I’m here. I left Orlando because it was a bit TOO congested. I intend to read more of your entries soon. Everyone can use therapy for the soul, right?

June 11, 2005

*grin* HAKUNA MATATA!! Damn but I loved that show. 😀

June 11, 2005

ryn… it don’t sound odd anymore….. it sounds nummy. orange dreamcicles are great. anything that tastes like one would have to be great too.

June 12, 2005

ryn: Hahaha. A WYSIWYG tribe, that’s a good one. Say, I’ve been neaning to ask you, what’s a drum circle?

June 12, 2005

What a great list! Awwww, I wouldn’t expect anyhting less of you though amazing woman that you are. *Beams you a great big smile* I was watching the news last night and wondering what storm won’t be making it to shore in July. Fractured, but you know what I mean, yes? I can hardly wait!!!!

June 12, 2005

nice… all so comforting

June 13, 2005

Now I feel really guilty about the chocolate deal. You’ll just have to pop around to Pennsylvania Ave and chat with George about his paranoia, let us ‘outsiders’ send food into the US again… either that or come visit 🙂 I love your things you like to do. Simple but perfect 🙂

June 13, 2005

Just sending a “howdy, neighbor”!

June 13, 2005

Steak and shake fries and burgers. now i can’t think of the name of the really good chocolate from the health food store that’s made here, and as good as the swiss stuff, all i can think of is steak and shake patty melt and fries. 🙂

June 13, 2005

I LOVE a good thunder storm!

June 13, 2005

🙂 EXCELLENT ENTRY …. SMILES,

June 13, 2005

Whuh? But this IS my list, except for the food and pedicures. 🙂 Pedicures? Is it hands touching that feel good I wonder, or being nurtured, or a feeling of luxury…

why does little mermaid wear a bra? She’s a mermaid.. she lives under water. she’s a cartoon, any man sho would get hard, looking at little mermaids is sick. lose the bra little mermaid..

June 13, 2005

Okay, got my list up! 🙂

June 13, 2005

Oh…..scrapbooks! Aren’t those wonderful? Looking at old pieces of paper you’ve tucked away, and remembering fun times. What a wonderful choice for your list!

June 13, 2005

Oh, YES! Your list got better and better, line by line Most of all, lots of banter, please! (Now I don’t need to write my own list; you’ve already done it for me.) But…. please, what is Steak N Shake Orange Freezes? Oranges and beef shaken together??!!

June 13, 2005

Thanks for sharing that. 😀 *warm hugs*

June 14, 2005

did someone say Drum circle???? Lael digs out her drum

June 15, 2005

A wonderful list of joys…

make a scrapbook or any kind of a book ; share your lives. Make one book for each of your children and grandchildren. Start them ALL at once rather than do one at t ime..just in case something happens. YOu don’t want to leave this world with a sccrappbook for only ONE child and none for the other.

🙂

June 15, 2005

RYN: Thanks! Hope that’s not ALL that “comes out okay!” Whee!

June 15, 2005

Great survey. I love storms too.

June 15, 2005

Steak N Shake…*sigh*

June 15, 2005

ryn: Get a cheap, pink plastic pig from the Dollar Store….I recommend it! 🙂
