Where Have I Been?

The weather is beautiful, if a little on the warm side.  My health has been improving since I’ve been trying to rid my food intake of salt, sugar and saturated fat.  (although today I am suffering a bit from a groggy sort of headache that will subside somewhat, just not entirely vanish)  I am enjoying my job most of the time, have finished the 4 classes I need to take to earn a teaching certificate, and taken (and passed) one of 4 tests necessary.  I still have no love life.  SO what’s my excuse for not being here in diary-land?  I have none.

I did manage TWO vacations in the neighborhood of ‘spring break’.  During the official spring break from school Chickie and I and one of her friends spent 4 days at the Mouse House in Orlando.  3 Disney princesses, that was us.    We shared a hotel room, 2 beds and (here’s the REALLY horrid part) ONE BATHROOM FOR 3 WOMEN.  We had a ton of fun, spent more money than I had and got very tired.

Back to school for a few days and then we were off to Young Stud’s wedding.  What an experience THAT was!  It didn’t start off on a good foot for me….and then mostly spiraled into hell from there.  And a good time was had by all.  The end.  No?  Not good enough for you?  Sigh.

I won’t mention the airline ticket snafu than resulted in us being stuck arriving at an airport a 4 hour drive from where we needed to be – or that said snafu was arranged intentionally by Sis.

Neither will I mention my disappointment when YS’s dad arrived hours early which meant that he had to leave and go get him settle in, leaving me, Chickie, Sis & BIL to have dinner with 20 people we’d never met.

I certainly won’t quibble about the brain processes that thought they were going to have 3 strange children under the age of 8 share a bedroom with me.  NOT!

It is understandable, though disappointing, that YS had zero time for mom during all this craziness during those few days.

But wait – did I tell you how AMAZING the beach house was?  WOW.  Brand new construction – 3 levels.  5 bedrooms.  6 bathrooms.  2 porches.  Hot tub for 12.  Deck out to the beach.  Star’s (soon to be DIL) mom and cousin stayed in 2 of the rooms.  YS And Star in one.  Sis, BIL, Chickie and I were to stay in another and the last for a friend of theirs with their 3 young kids.  BUT BIL could not navigate the bedroom well enough – so they went to a hotel.   My two nephews showed up and packed in as well.

Chickie’s dad showed up.  The man that owes me thousands in back child support and can’t pay because he has no job….drove up on a brand new Harley.  In deference to the whole marriage atmosphere, I smiled and made small talk instead of grabbing a butcher knife and taking it to both Chickie’s dad AND the Harley.

The ceremony was beachfront and beautiful.  Star was truly brilliant and glowing.  Young Stud was genuinely pleased to be getting married – no doubts this time.  I had a bout of beachside allergies – cause my eyes were WATERING something fierce during the ceremony.

It’s interesting – there has been a shift in the relationship between YS and I since the wedding – not from my side, but from his.  I suppose that’s as it should be – but I can’t help but  be a little sad.

AND th

ere was a HUGE backlash from Chickie once we got home. The sperm donor that fathered her filled her head full of crap – or maybe he just fleshed out some of the fantasy thinking that she already had going on.  Either way, I became a huge symbol of everything that was wrong with her life AND the world in general for nearly 2 weeks after that little encounter.  I think we’re back to normal now – but who can say for sure?

After all is said and done… I am well pleased with my kids and my life in general right now.  (And I have some cute school stories to tell you as well).  Yet there are some holes that need filling…and I’m not quite sure where to find the right kind of filler.  And so it goes.

*hugs* glad to see you alive and well. can’t wait to hear some of those promised stories. congratulations on your restraint with the butcher knife– though i suspect it was not so much restraint as lack of available butcher knives 😉

oh I don’t know, I think you should have went ahead with the butcher knife to hubby and the harley. Although I rather like harleys, how about just the ex and steal the harley! LOL

Wish a soulmate would show up for you, Sunshine.

Bah on those beachside allergies! 🙂 The pictures were great! Chickie and YS both look a lot like you.

holes can be filled with toothpaste, but i think stevia and cocoa powder work best. 🙂 Splenda’s not bad either. Tried making a splenda cheesecake with no crust yet. it’s yummy.

now that’s a red dress! 🙂 Whew, what a whirlwind that must have been, and what a house.

What a whirlwind! Too bad about the snafus and the ex (maybe just let the air out of the Harley’s tires…). Those photos are terrific, and that beach house is extraordinary! Here’s hoping the dust settles.

Sounds a great day!! I had similar allergies on my wedding day!! Blubbed the whole way through the service *grin*. Brand new Harley Huh?.. the kitchen knife wouldn’t have done justice, riding home on the thing without him would have heh heh heh..!

My place in son’s life has shifted too…it is as it should be I guess….but it still makes my heart ache. I miss him! Lordy, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.I’ll have to charge my phone up and give you a call…lots to ask, lots to say too!
