Hey! How’s It Going?

It seems that I am forever playing Catch-Up when it comes to FOD. Dadgummit! And for no good reason that I can find. Double Dadgummit!!

Chickie had her 2nd court date – the one where she was to have community service completed, reports done, and penitent look securely on her face. Done, done and done! Judge issued Chickie a strong warning about NOT coming back to his court…and then told the prosecutor’s office that it was a shame that they had not made a file for this case…and he was going to have to dismiss it. Heh. Slick fellow! No record of the ticket anywhere at all.

Chickie’s Big Event #2: She has gotten a job as a cashier at a nearby grocery store. How appropriate that a person so obsessed with food should find a job surrounded by it… And now she can buy her own dang shoes!!! Ya-hooooooooOOOOOOoooo!

Young Stud has me a bit miffed over this whole wedding deal. Seems it is to be small. Smaller than small. I actually had to argue with him to invite his parents! (Er…yes, that includes me.) As I understand it at this point, the guest list includes me and Chickie, Stud’s Dad and my second husband (Chickies Dad) who actually did more of the father thing with Young Stud than his sperm donor biological father. My father is welcome although he won’t go…and Stud’s paternal grandmother is welcome, her health will determine whether she will be there or not. Stud’s Intended will have her mom there.

BUT, YS says, Sis is not invited. Sis at whose house he spent a month every summer for more than 10 years. They don’t want a big “production”. Hmmmmm. Wonder who this is coming from – YS or Intended? Whoever, I don’t think it’s being thought through very completely. The way “I” see it is this: I have no problem with small. It is their wedding and they should be able to do any dang thing they please. But if I am expected to stand merrily between both of my ex-husbands and SMILE, for pity’s sake…I can do that. Besides, I’ll have the buffer of their girlfriends there. Girlfriends? Hang on – a woman who has been on the fringes of my son’s life for the last few years and another woman who doesn’t even know his name are welcome and Sis is not??? Oh no. This is not gonna fly…. But I love them both and hate like hell to start out as some Uber bitch MIL…….KIDS! grumble, grumble, grumble.

Now that the school year is nearly over…I was finally able to start my training to be a substitute teacher. For a county that is SCREAMING for subs…this process is amazingly slow. I started back in January, for pity’s sake! Yesterday was sit in the classroom and be alternately bored by the teacher and amazed by the other wanna-be substitute teachers day. Today is the day I go to a nearby school and job shadow. That means sit and watch somebody teach a class all day. Yep – I’m gonna need a nap by the time this is over! Hope I can keep from napping in the classroom! I picked a high school to go to…cause I figured that would keep me awake. I know how those kids are – it would be foolish (and quite possibly lethal) to fall asleep in their midst! I wanted to go to Chickie’s school to “shadow”, but apparently they are way too snooty for their own good and simply don’t participate in such mundane activities.

Better post this…and get on with my day… What next?
