Wedding Bells, Sirens, & Things That Go Bump In .
Which to tackle first? The Bells, the Sirens or the Bumps? Decisions, decisions Lets go with the easy stuff first the Wedding Bells.
Young Stud and fiancé have set a date for the first weekend in June. Not only that, BUT, he did manage to actually call me and let me know, which is his version of an invitation. As it stands now, it will be a small ceremony at her moms house up in Tennessee. Cool with me the only thing I am having trouble with is what to wear. I mean, after all, I AM the MOTHER of the Groom. Something fire engine red I think or perhaps a lovely, rich dark purple Velvet or Satin? Garters and tattoos exposed? Should I get some extra piercings just for the occasion? Oh and I saw a lovely leopard print fabric the other day with a slight day-glo quality to it . Good thing I have some time to get this all sorted out!
Will Young Stud have to change his name after the wedding? Young Stud hardly seems appropriate for a devoted hubby I may have to start calling him the artist formerly known as Young Stud
And they are looking at possibly moving to Mobile. The soon-to-be-Mrs. Stud is pursuing a job opportunity that will let her do her internship for becoming a psychologist there. Will keep you updated on how THAT goes. I may need a psychologist to deal with the rigors and duties of being a mother-in-law! Anybody know where I can get a copy of the Mother-In-Law by-laws and code of ethics???
As for the sirens
well thats a bit of an overstatement. Chickie. Dear Chickie. I am snoring away peacefully when the ringing phone intrudes. Growling sleepily I answer.
Mrs. Wolf?
Yes
This is Officer Friendly of the Police Department. How are you this evening maam?
In my sleepy stupor all my mind can do is wonder why the HELL they are soliciting funds for the PBA at midnight
but I manage a barely polite Im sleeping how are YOU?
Fine maam. Sorry to wake you up, but I have Chickie here with me
OK. THAT woke me right up.
And shes in your car.
WHAT!!!!!?
I take it she didnt have permission to use your car?
NO
Were on the corner of
.
Ill be RIGHT there!
So I got Sis out of bed and off we went to retrieve Chickie AND my car. Did I mention that the little darling doesnt even have a learners permit, much less an actual LICENSE? The Officer was very nice, even complementing Chickie and asking me not to be TOO hard on her. Hah! Is there such a thing as too hard in this instance???? She was not alone, by the way. She had a friend with her who had been spending the night and their excuse (POOR excuse) was that they were trying to find the friends momma and get some papers signed for school Whatever.
So a month later and were in court. The judge reamed Chickie an additional orifice. He was hot. Then he assigned her a 5 page paper on the dangers of teen driving, 10 hours of community service and to write her own obituary. (Just that day 3 kids about Chickies age had been killed joyriding in a stolen car and it was heavy on the judges mind). Shes to go back to court in a month at which point he will most likely dismiss the entire case since she has never been quite this brain dead before and is a good student. How much more fun can I stand?
As for the things that go bump in the night thats just me. Give me some time to catch up with everyone and I do believe Im back!
LOL…and they wonder why mothers get gray ! Good to see you again…go easy on the piercings and tattoos…don’t want to give the new in-law(s) the wrong perception…LOL Bet it will be a beautiful wedding…something in a soft lavender perhaps??? keep us posted. Love & Hugs,

A new orifice. How exciting for her. I like the “write your own obituary” part of the punishment, too. Lovely to see you, beloved Wolf. With a sunny grin and a big hug…Torin, unrepentently unsigned

The judge was hot!!! I think he did great. My girlfriends daughter was doing the same thing. She got caught after she hit another car in a parking lot and kept driving. Her punishment a slap on the wrist. Pay her mom back for damages and don’t do it again. Guess what? 2 weeks later she pulled the same stunt. I’m glad you’re back! ~hugs~

{soft chuckles} ain’t being a parent great!?! sounds like life is quite full. i’m sure the wedding will be lovely, we will get to see pics, right? curious why chickie got stopped in the first place but even though a bit harsh, i think the punishment fits the crime, especially the obituary thing! c’mon, give us a sneak peek when it’s written! well, thank goodness nothing serious happened and the girls are safe, it will certainly be forever imprinted in her memory~

(((((((((((Wolfie))))))))) Hey, hey, it’s so good to see an entry!!!! Woo-hoo! I think the judge did a good job re: Chickie’s Bad Choice (title of children’s book she can write) I’d be happy to help you figure out wedding attire….I’m happy for you sweetie, it’s so great to “see” you again!

What, is her friend’s mom a hooker? Looking for her friend’s mom, at midnight??? I was a REALLY DUMB teen, but even I could’ve come up with a better lame excuse than that one! You did, however, provide me my laugh for the day. Just glad she got a come uppance. As for the MIL schtick, don’t worry–it’ll come naturally. AND WEAR RED!! To the wedding. You deserve it. Welcome back!

I’m thinking go with the leapard print. I have this same sort of desicion to make soon too! And what was Chickie thinking? Oh my goodness. Well hopefully she won’t try a stunt like that again. It sounds like something my youngest will try when she gets a few years older. I can hardly wait. 🙂

I am so glad you are back…and watch pschology coming from a daughter in law….you might be agreeing to all types of manipulation chuckles…and chiccie…send her to your dad for three months that will sort her behaviour out…chuckles again so glad you are back

That sounds so unlike the chickie you’ve introduced us to!! terrifyling. I like the writing her own obit. That’s quite a cool thing to make her do. As to your outfit and m-i-l duties, go for deep. sumptuous purple velvet (with in built air conditioning, it will be June after all) and be just as sweet as pie to your d-i-l. We all deserve it! btw our wedding is the first week in June too!

YES!!! you’re back… I’ve been emailing you like a madwoman, have you not been getting them? *GREAT BIG FISHIE HUGS* for the wolfie I’ve missed you soooo much, you rock glad you’re feeling better enough to join the real… er… FOD simulated… world! *dances around* WOLFIE IS BACK!!!

forgot to comment on the entry in all that excitement. Whoo. Okay I watched this one thing in health class with teens for drunk driving, and they simulated an accident and went through ALL of the stages of what would happen after these kids died and they had to write a goodbye letter to their parents and all that… sounds kinda the same. Has Chickie had some nice common sense whacked into h

Wow, Wolfie is back! No wonder I hadn’t heard from you for a while. There’s quite enough going on in your life to make you go prematurely grey, that’s for sure. Congrats on your upcoming MIL hood. You’ll be great at it. No worries. I like that judge! What a brilliant, creative punishment! I think it will really make a lasting imprint on young Chicky. I’m SO glad you’re back! 😀 *Great BIG HUGS*

Yay!! Wolfie!! Unfortunately the drums are NOT playing Begin the Beguine. I wish they were. Surely the US people can see Bush for the complete blithering nounce he is? I wish he was in the front line of his willing who I suspect are none too willing at all. Lerv Alex

Holy sheep dip, Batman! This parenting gig is just soooo much fun, ain’t it? Part of me wants to giggle, but I know if I do, I will speed up the time before it is my turn to write a comparable entry. So, I am just going to nod sympathetically and hope I can stay under the radar of TPTB. 🙂

ryn: =O talk about drama..wolfie, im speechless!! the obituary….top notch idea. i cant believe..wow, im guessing chickie is under some kind of house arrest at the moment. funny how EVERYTHING happens when we arent writing. or thinking..or..thinking how everything is going okay. congrats on the wedding plans though! give “the artist formerly known as young stud” our regards! glad your

back!! ::curses under her breath::; stupid a fod word limit… you cant even edit entries anymore!

I’m glad the judge’s mind was in the right place! Over the years in my work I have seen the tragic aftermath of too many kids driving too soon. Male officers tend to go lighter on young ladies. Had that been a young man he would have been reamed a new orific by both the officer and judge. Hope it made an impression on Chickie and friend.

Glad to see you back! Seems as though being a mother-in-law should be a piece of cake, compared to being a mother… Ha! As if I know anything about it, having never been either! :-/

In a few years, Chickie will probably be taking your role here with her own daughter. I remember when our daughter J said to Mrs. Willy: “Mom, I’m on your side of the generation gap now”

if they need a real estate agent or a mortgage closer let me know, we worked with some of the best. If he needs crash space let me know.
Warning Comment
also give you crash space for when you visit them w/o having to sleep with slobber monsters, i mean their dogs. 🙂

i think the judge is right, community service is a good way to get kids or anybody to think about what they did. At least somebody else gave her the punishment besides our wonderful wolfie! Does she have to work off the gas and the time you had to spend in the court? 🙂 Gee shows my mom’s mean side coming out in me doesn’t it? 🙂 The museum had lots of people doing comm. serv. when i worked there.
Warning Comment
maybe get a stick shift car, that’s harder for teenies to drive away in… *grin* all the above since miss imp are from me, ribbit, as if you didn’t know, 🙂 Ribbit!
