The Seed Continued
She stood and expressed joy at finally meeting him. Then she asked why they had not met before.
He gently chided her.
“I have tried before – you have glimpsed me many times. But you are stubborn.”
She asked his name.
“Malachai. Malachai The Hawk.”
“Then that was your power animal that guided me here.”
He nodded.
She offered him a gift of a small leather pouch. He accepted, saying that he required no gifts. She explained that it was not given out of a feeling of obligation, but as a sign of respect and a willingness to learn.
“Then learn you shall.”
During the course of this journey she had noticed several instances where it felt as if her heart had stopped and she asked Malachai about it. He became very serious.
“What you are doing is not without danger. You must be aware. You must be focused. You cannot jump between worlds. You must be fully in one.”
She asked him for the one thing that she needed to know most.
“Follow your heart.”
“How will I know if it is my heart I follow?”
“You will know. If you have questions, I will be here to answer them.”
She asked then what the next step in her journey should be.
“Step out of your comfort zone. Leave hearth and home. Find a new place to live.”
Then Malachai presented her with a sting of tiny turquoise beads. She repeated his words back to him as she accepted it.
“I require no gifts.”
Malachai’s explanation was that it was a token and a reminder, not an obligation. She took it inside of herself and inquired of Malachai where she should wear it. He told her to place it around her throat – and she did.
Malachai then made it plain that it was time for her to leave. She departed on light feet, rapidly retracing her steps. She was soon back in the room at the entrace to the cave. This time she stepped into the pool. Layers of “dirt” fell away like a crust.
Just before she stepped out of the cave she sent her thanks to Malachai. She had forgotten to thank him fully at the cottage and she knew she was not to go back – so she sent her thoughts to him, hoping that it would be enough.
“You are heard, Little One.”
And she stepped out of the cave.
Now that you are caught up with Torin’s diary, you could get caught up at The Watcher’s. With a grin…(and needing to get caught up with you!) Torin the Unsigned
