Doing Better

Well, I am not entirely computerless it seems. A few weeks ago I bought an older laptop from a fella at work and hid it away to give to my daughter for Christmas. Seems it’s coming into use a bit early. But I miss MY laptop! Sniffle.

Be that as it may – don’t tell anyone – but I am in danger of actually getting a life it seems. I have been slow to report this here, because you know how elusive a life is – just when you think you’ve got one…..BAM! Reality smacks you right in the arse! (Arse – that thing you keep dropping, M’Ludlette, Harley).

A week ago a new exhibit opened at the museum here – with 3 Van Goghs. Yes! I LOVE impressonists! So I went to the gala opening with two folks from work! It was wonderful! Everyone has seen pictures of Van Gogh’s Starry Night….but let me tell you the real thing is NOTHING like the pics – it is ever so much more vivd and alive. I would have stared at it for hours…..but the nice museum guard told thought I should move one and let other folks see it too. I must say that I disagreed with him….but let him win. Men like to feel important and in control. After the museum – we went out to eat. I had a wonderful time.

This past Thursday, a large group of people from work went bowling. I started out fairly slow…..but I have to say that my ability to knock down pins is in direct proportion to the amount of beer I drink. More beer = more pins. It was a hoot – and a lot more just plain fun than I’ve had in a long time. Afterwards some of us sat around in the bar for a bit regaling each other with tall tales. Well, I’m sure the other folks told tall tales – I was perfectly factual. I am, after all, a seemly sort of wolf.

Friday, one of my co-workers popped into my office to ask me if I’d like to go out to lunch with him. Did you get that? I said with HIM! OK – a male is actually talking to me and asking me out to lunch! He probably just wants to see if I have any power to help his career along….

Tonight (actually, it’s last night by this time) I was invited to go out for Karaoke night with one of the women from work. What a hoot! Complete with a drunken brawl in the parking lot (No, it wasn’t me – thank you for your votes of confidence).

Is it just me – or does this sound like the trappings of a life? Hmmmmm????

And, of course, I spent the MAJORITY of my Saturday afternoon playing with my new old computer – tweaking it and getting it right….and chatting with some real characters! I laughed so hard I nearly peed my pants! (Thank you Tuppence for distracting Harley so I could change my panties) And Creek – I hope you survived that entire ordeal intact. Torin was the sole voice of sanity – now doesn’t that worry everyone?!!!

So now……I’m off to sleep – to enjoy my illusion of a life. If anyone sees Oded Fehr (thank you for pointing out THAT website to me, Torin!) tell him I’ll be waiting for him in my dreams….but tell him to bring chocolate!

Torin? Sane? You cannot have been talking to the real Torin! LOL ANd Tuppence told me you left the panties off! Hope “your life” goes from strength to strength! Hugz

*grin* I think your dose of life that should have been given to you is long overdue!! So enjoy it Sunshine!!

Mmmm…a life…wouldn’t that be great? Happy for you, Sunshine (I love that nick!)Thanks for your hugs, they were nevertheless appreciated… 🙂

I like that idea that you can go on from strength to strength. Glad you have the use of a computer, at least for now. I find it useful to go on from day to day, and then, all of a sudden, you find your life is together.

Sounds like a fun life to be having. Have fun, play nice…. or not. 🙂

so many happy entries this morning. i think i’ll skip the newspaper and keep smiling. i’m happy for you.

I did karaoke the other night 🙂 You don’t think that bloke has dodgy facial hair?

Of course I was (and am) the voice of sanity. SOMEONE has to be, and you are evidently keeping some very odd company. With a grin…

Sounds like you’re having a great time, I’m so glad. I love Starry Night – it’s one of my favorite paintings. Have a great fall, I’ll be catching up with you in December. Love,

So glad to see you back! Just how and where are you talking to these people at?

I’m glad that things are going so well for you. Even the computer disaster turned out semi ok. Wow a real life- I’m so jealous.

hey cool a real life…. I knew it wasn’t a myth….hehehehe Keep having fun! HUGS

you make me smile

Odd company Torin? Well, I didn’t see you in that storm of verbosity and brilliance! And SANE? Ha, have you ever pulled the wool over the Wolf’s eyes.I believe my keyboard is still smoking, but I survived dear. 🙂

I am SO sorry to hear your puter was nabbed!!! I ust dont understand thieves, young or old!! But a LIFE???…A real live one with extracurricular activities and everything???!! I am so jealously happy for you, SW..;)))

Your computer was probably stolen by someone who knew about it. Locally posting a small reward may bring info from one of the kids. If it gets the computer back it’s a lot less than a new one would cost

Oh goodness, you’ve been having a great time, havent you? I wishing you an abundance of fun times. That’s what life should be about, right? (no one has ever accused me of being a realist)

Wherever you go Harley is blabbing all. At least you put yours on BEFORE you started the conversation with him dear…who knows what he was up to?

Well, dear, you must be having a life. I can’t remember the last time you mentioned your knickers. Glad to hear it, SW, you deserve it!

Ain’t it great to have a life? Now I have to choose what to do where before, my life was my house and my computer! I have missed you, my friend! ©

Hope the computer hasn’t karked again?

As you recover your life be careful not strain anything important. Safety first, you know. Oh BS… go completely insane and break everything. Now THERE’S a life!
