…This song makes ME remember that I am A LOT stronger than I sometimes realize! This is a song that says that I AM a survivor…not a VICTIM!!! Eve3rytime I hear this song, I just see myself standing in a room filled with thousands of people, preaching that I have survived and there are millions out there that I can help make a survivor too…that or I am in a boxing ring punching the hell out of my step dad, in self defense, telling him he can no longer bring me down….
…though this song isn’t REALLY based on the life of a child abuse victim (actually, it was written for Beyonce about 2 former members that no longer are a part of Destiny’s Child)…but these sayings, these come-backs, are what I think of EVERYTIME when I try to remember that I am a lot stronger then what I give myself credit for….and that my step dad is NOT gonna win by me acting so down all the time. I’m not gonna be like that! Not anymore!
