Sickness

Well, I went to the doctor yesterday.  Know how I said in my last entry that I was afraid it was a sinus infection or strep throat or an ear infection?  Turns out it’s most likely all three!  I say most likely because the dr didn’t actually swab for strep because my throat was sooo sore and she was putting me on amoxocillan anyways but she said it looked like I have it.  She said my sinus infection is pretty bad and that my sinuses are about 2xs the size they should be.  My ear infection isn’t too bad but it’s enough to be annoying.

So at the doctors appt my blood pressure was up to 152/90 and the doctor kind of freaked out over it.  She did a urine test to see if I had protein to check for preeclampsia but there was just a trace of protein so she said I’m probably ok but she wanted me to call my OBGYN.  While I was doing the urine test I had more of the brown bleeding which kind of freaked me out.  So I called my OBGYN from the parking lot of my general practitioner and told them my blood pressure and that there was a trace of proteins and that I have all of the infections and the brown bleeding and he kind of freaked out and asked if I could come in right now to get checked out.  I didn’t have my procardia with me so I had to run home to get it so I wouldn’t miss my 10:30am dose and then went right to the OBGYN.  My blood pressure had gone down just a little bit by the time I got to the ObGYN… it was down to 145/88.  The doctor drew my blood though to double check that I’m not having any other problems.  I’ll find out about that tomorrow at my normal weekly appt.  He also checked my cervix and said that it’s still thick and closed so I still have no idea what’s going on with the bleeding.  He said as long as it stays brown I shouldn’t worry about it.  But yeah, all in all a pretty crazy morning.  And of course I felt terrible the whole time and I was soo exhausted from not having slept at all because of the infections.  I don’t know how fast amoxicillan normally works but I was actually feeling a little better last night.  I only woke up about four times last night and I was able to just get up, go to the bathroom, make something warm to drink and then fall back asleep when I did wake up.  No sitting on the couch at 4am on the computer because I couldn’t sleep.

Oh, and on a side note.  Why do they have to make the amoxocillan pills so enormous??  They give them to people who have strep throat who can barely swallow their spit and now I have to swallow this horse pill?  Seriously?  Ug.

I’m all excited for Friday because when i was at the OBGYN I asked when I was going to have another ultrasound and he said that we could do it at any time.  So I asked if we could do it Friday because Ben has off work and could actually come with.  The dr said that would be fine. ðŸ™‚  Ben’s only been to one appt with me because of his work being so far away so I’m really excited for him to come with me to my ultrasound. 🙂  I’m pretty anxious so see what position the baby is in because I have a feeling that he/she is breech and sometimes transverse.  It feels like his/her head is pushing up into my ribs half the time and the other half the time it feels like he/she is stretching across my entire stomach.  I guess at 34 weeks there’s still time for him/her to move head down.  It would just stink to still have to have a C-section after all the low lying placenta stuff cleared up.

Ok, I need to go find something to numb my throat so I can take my horse pill.
