Laughter soothes the soul

The best part of any day is laughing. Sure I smile and have some great conversations, but it’s those moments that I am truly laughing that I cherish the most

Most of those days are spent with my ‘work daughter’ Alina. She’s a year older than Mar and while I am really glad the two of them get along too, I cherish our friendship long past our working together days. It’s one of the bright spots of my week when I get to spend time with her. So glad we continued our friendship long past when she left our company

She had asked me if I wanted to go somewhere to watch the game yesterday. I said, no thanks, Niner fans were the worst and I just didn’t have the strength to deal with humans out in public, especially to that extent. She had planned to chill Saturday night, and go out on Sunday, and I was just the opposite. I had checked out a new place for music and wanted to see what it was all about

I had some plans for some crock pot recipes, so I got those ingredients for both days and did a lot of chores over both days of the weekend.  Felt good to be up and moving about, clearing up some of the clutter, good energy flowing with the doors open, it was gorgeous all weekend.

I love live music, and I am blessed with having many friends who play in local bands. Alina and I are always checking out the local dive bar, as my friend Scott plays bass in several bands. We go to this dive bar so much that the bartender gives us a hug whenever we come in

This new place, a local cajun restaurant with free music outside, had a jazzy type band playing, from 6-10, which yeah, was really odd. But after the hockey game, the organist for the team comes down and plays for an hour, something I had no idea happened, so we might go back to check that out

Alina decided to come out with me anyway, which was perfect. I love that she likes to check out new stuff and places together. We get there about 8 or so and we get some food and sit outside. Food was excellent as usual and the music was really good.  Other than the lead singer talking WAY too much, was really a great time.  We were laughing SO hard talking and goofing off, I was almost doubled over coughing.  We’re such a pair and I love hearing her laugh, it’s a lot like Mar’s, so contagious

The keyboard player was hitting on me, which Alina found hilarious, and they ended their set and we took off for our dive bar. The lead singer of Scott’s band was also in the band that was playing and he waved at me when we walked in.  Really raucous and fun end to our night.

Sunday I did some chores and Alina came over for the game. She got there pretty late, so we rewound the game recording.  Again, our conversations were all over the map, and we just howled at the commercials

It was one of those weekends where nothing really got done, but everything fell into place perfectly

I wish more of my days would have stuff just fall into place but so far it hasn’t happened.  There is at least a minute of each and everyday where I start laughing at something hubby said or did and he just think I am so nuts because he can’t understand why I think it’s so funny….and he just shakes his head at me……I always feel better after I have laughed my guts out…well almost out…..
