Broke a sweat
I know that I need to move more. The daily mile or so walk to/from the train, and the brisk walk to my car from the train just isn’t enough
I always tell my mother that she needs to keep her joints juicy, that walking and movement helps arthritis, and yet here I am, starting to feel the affects of that, and I don’t move as much as I should, or used to
I came home early to go have the hand surgeon look at my trigger finger. The PA suggested the sock hand trick, one that I had never heard of. You ball up a sock and loosely hold it, then put the other sock over your hand so that you don’t let go of the balled up one. Then she gave me that horrifically painful shot. I have a wee little bruise on my pad of my index finger today
Sock hand worked though, oddly enough. The PA said that braces can be really hard and the socks essentially do the same thing. I woke up with some pain still, but not nearly as much or as stiff as I normally do in the morning.
Upon arriving home, I was met with a blast of very warm air. Now that it’s in the 60’s outside, there really isn’t any reason for the heater to be on, and yet it was. My roommate was home for lunch, but when I asked him about it, he said he turns the heat on in the morning because the room fogs up? He’s something that one
My mental health with him around, I am struggling to not pop off at him. Everything I say, he takes the wrong way anyway, so after I said that he should try opening some windows for air flow, he acted like I told him to jump off the building and I didn’t see him all night, nothing new there, he rarely leaves his room, but when he’s offended, it’s like this negative cloud hangs over the house
While I was just being lazy and watching tv, I decided to get on the bike. I had sworn that if I was going to pay for that iFit service again, that I would actually get on the bike and move more. And here it is, the end of January, and I have been on it maybe 3 times?
I watched tv and rode along. I didn’t get into a class because that would have been too loud. I adjusted the incline and the resistance all the way up to the top and rode one or two laps struggling to pedal, which felt really good.
It wasn’t that long, only 10 minutes or so, and I did some quick weights while riding as well (the bike came with hand weights, for just that purpose) but when I got off and walked around, I knew that I needed to get on that more. That old me, the one that loves feeling fit, was in there yelling FINALLY
It makes sense, I ride long miles on the weekends, I should be keeping up with rides inside from Saturday to Saturday.
And I can ride my frustrations over my idiot roommate away too, it’s a win-win
you think it’s time for a different roommate? My son needs a place he can call home instead of a place to rent? And he is very quiet and doesn’t use much lights or heat…..But his cooking skills is something to be desired…so if you don’t mind cooking and doing the dishes he will be perfect and his rent is always on time.
@jaythesmartone It’s been time for a new roommate a LONG time ago. We’re both on the lease, so it would be tough to say, hey weirdo, get out of here. I actually would love to live on my own, but here in the SF Bay Area, living alone isn’t an option, even when we make a lot of money a year
@kattster
Does he ever not pay his rent on time? Or some other bill? that would be a good reason to get rid of him? But I would tell the landlord you don’t want him anymore and you want a new person and you will even find them. But yeah I would get rid of them and the next one not put on the lease.
@jaythesmartone if only it was that easy! I can’t really complain about the stuff he does, besides wasting energy (heater and leaving the lights on when he’s not even in that room all day) because he always pays his rent and his share on time. I will need to move out, and that’s almost impossible here
@kattster
Too bad you are not here in B.C. then my son and you could be roommates….
