The Situation with Andy – Written April 2009

I am naturally a critical thinker. An analyst. I view things from as many angles as I can, or as come to me. And the situation with Andy is one that hasn’t escaped my analytical mind.

I think about what makes this friendship of sorts work. What keeps us interested in each other. What keeps us in touch despite the fact we haven’t seen in each other in a year. Yes… It has been a year… this month…

It is in fact a very unique kind of friendship and I’ve never had this kind of friendship/relationship with anybody. And it occurs to me that, just like I’ve never had this before, neither has Andy.

There is something about this relationship – because it’s a relationship of sorts – that keeps it going, it keeps it surviving, and it’s certainly not because we have a previous model of this type of relationship.
