I think this lady just needs sex, lol

            It’s 6pm and I already have the entire motel filled up!! Dances  Once the rooms are all rented I can pretty much just sit back, answer phones and turn weary travelers away, ha ha. We’re expecting some severe weather here soon, so excitement! I LOVE thunder storms. I hate that I usually have to be at work, and it is so well insulated I never get to hear the full impact of the storm, nor see it. At home I feel like I am right in the middle of it all, and I like that. Now that we don’t live in the mobile home on flat land I don’t have to be scared that we’ll get blown away, haha. We’re now in a concrete built apartment in the side of a hill basically, facing the east, and there is a bluff right above us. Below us is the woods, ha ha, so we’re in a little cove, nestled away from Tornados. So bring on the rain!

 

            My day started off at 7am with Lee calling my house and yelling in my ear. I didn’t even get upset, or stressed out or angry. I was annoyed, and just wanted to hang up on her, but I didn’t get myself all worked up about it this time. I really feel I have learned to just let it roll off. Like I said before, I am not sure if it’s just because I have gotten to the point of I don’t care what happens to my job, or if it’s because I know she isn’t going to change, so I should just deal with it. Anyway, here is what happened.

 

            Work has slowly been renewing the bedrooms. They have been replacing the vanities (sinks) and repainting the rooms. Yesterday, there were to non-smoking double’s that were marked as DNR (do not rent) because one had been painted that morning and one that had had a sink replaced. Then, there were three smoking doubles marked DNR because they had the sinks replaced the previous day (then the rooms were cleaned) and then they were painted yesterday morning.

 

            Okay, so yesterday was insanely, and unusually busy. Thursdays are usually slow. However business picked up FAST. By 9:00 I had rented all the rooms that were not marked DNR, and in the computer I closed out the 5 rooms so people couldn’t book them online or through the 1800 number. A man came in, said he wanted a smoking room, I explained the situation, I told him I had three that were down do to repainting, and he’s like well I can look and see if the fumes are bad. So, I make him a key for each of the three smoking rooms marked DNR and he comes back and says he’ll take 223. I ask him if he’s sure, and he says yes. This man pays $61.14 after taxes for the room. Then, a few minutes later, another man walks in, and says he has a reservation. I look and look, and he has no reservation for yesterday OR any other day. So he calls his boss, turns out he was supposed to arrive the night before and never showed so the room was canceled.

 

            I explain his room is gone because he didn’t show up the night before. I explain about the last two smoking rooms and he does the same thing the previous man does. He looks at the last two smoking rooms marked DNR and decided one is good enough to stay in. I ask him if he’s sure, I asked if the room was clean, “yes, yes” he says. So, I rent the room for $55.00 + tax. The man goes to his room, I end my shift with some paper work and notice that central reservations have reserved my last to non-smoking doubles that I closed in the computer because they aren’t rent-able. They show up as I am leaving and I explain to them the situation, they were very nice and willing to take the two rooms, and I discounted each room 15 extra bucks.

 

            So, Lee calls this morning FURIOUS that I rented these rooms when she told me not to. I was like Lee, I see where you’re coming from, but these people knew what they were paying for. Trust me, if the rooms weren’t worth paying that kind of money for, these people would NOT have paid to stay here. But because they were willing, I was able to fill up the motel and make extra money we weren’t counting on. But I don’t think it was so much that I rented the rooms that was the problem as it was me “disobeying” her, and not showing “respect” for her authority. Either way, I knew Ish would tell me to “RENT THE ROOMS!” and that if he knew I turned people away who were willing to pay for the rooms he’d be furious. Except for making a decision without her, I don’t really see what I did wrong. All week we haven’t averaged over 20 rooms, ALL WEEK. Here, on a Thursday night I sold out the freakin’ house. I deserve a reward, not a lecture.

 

            When I got to work, she started in on me again, kept putting her finger in my face, let me have it just like she did this morning on the phone. I just let it slide. However, Ish just calls me a few minutes ago to PRAISE me for my good work, for selling it out. I was like “yeah but Lee is mad at me now, now I am in trouble.” He just kind of laughs and is like, “well screw her, you did the right thing, they were willing to pay for the room so there’s no harm done. In fact, let me get you a gift certificate and you can take your mom to dinner, how does that sound?” I was like, hmmmm “It sounds good!”  I almost declined, but you know what, I work REALLY hard here, so maybe I deserve it. =) It’s so very rare I am shown appreciation, so what the heck right?  Anyway, put in my position, would you have done the same thing?

 

            Either way, I am not really upset about it, or my usual stressed out, not scared I am going to lose my job. I think Ish would fight for me if Lee tried to let me go. =)

 

So that’s MY Friday drama! Haha. I work until 11 toni

ght and have to be back at 7am tomorrow, BUT, at three I am off until Tuesday at 3!!! DANCES It’ll be like having 3 days off in a row. If anyone calls in sick, Hanna is UNREACHABLE….(yeah right, you know I’ll answer my phone and go in..lol)

 

    Wow, this is super long, I’ll end it here for now. Just thought I’d get my venting out =)
