I Got A Ticket…

…ACTUALLY, I got TWO tickets. One to NY and one from NY to Prague (WITH a layover in the most "romantic" city in the world, Paris!) Everything is ALL set. We got our hotel, we got our tickets. Now I just need some good winter clothes, lol and I will be good to go! I have had a cheesy smile on my face ALL day, haha.  But since Frank is telling everyone, I guess I will too…..I have a humerous (yet humiliating) story ……

Okay last night Frank said when he got done with work we were going to look into getting out plane tickets out of the way. (Keep in mind while I tell the story, that we are leaving Weds the 27th and returning on the 2nd. So, over New Years weekend.) Well, I am game for that. Sooner we get the tickets the better. The prices though, had gone up since two weeks ago as it got closer to our travel dates and seats started to fill up on the plane. We go through every travel site possible, and Frank finally found a good deal on Delta.  So, he goes and books his ticket, and begins picking out his seats. So I go in, pick out my dates and flight to match his, fill out all the necessary information, and start to pick my seats so I can sit next to him. Only, the seats he chose where we could sit together weren’t being offered to me. So I told him I found another set (also so we’d have a window seat) and he told me to get mine and he was going to call Delta and have his changed to being by me.

He calls Delta  and they tell him they don’t have a Ms. Hanna _______ on that flight, and he’s insistant that that’s impossible. He told them I had just made the reservation just as he had. But again they said I wasn’t on the flight. So they look up my name and find I am on the next day (the 28th)!!!! Same flight but the day after the day we need!!! So I call Delta, and after being on hold for forever on end, I finally get through to an operator who was very nice about helping me out and changing the flight information. She also made sure I was seated next to Frank on all of our flights. (Except from Paris to Prague, which we have to do through France Air or something.) Uhg, so that was entirely TOO stressful. Like I panicked, and I couldn’t imagine how that happened because I know I chose the 27th…The only thing I can think of is that my mouse caused the number to slip to the next spot on the date list when I moved my mouse. But it wasn’t because I neglected to pay attention you know? But that’s fixed.

THEN!!!! As if the night wasn’t going my way already. Emitt won Dancing With The Stars, which really put a downer on the whole night. I so, so, so wanted Mario Lopez to win. He was obviously the much better dancer. I thought the trophy was surely in the bag for him.

AND THEN!!!! So,  we got out tickets to Prague. Next we needed to get me from Missouri to New York  (preferably landing in JFK). So Frank and I start looking online all over again to find a good bargain. He calls UsAir after I tell him I found a good deal, and he calls them so he can cash in his airline miles to pay for part of the ticket, and they refused to let him do it to make a ticket for me. Which really, makes no sense. Other airlines have done it before.  So he gets into a huge fight with the operator because she hardly spoke any English and couldn’t understand how her logic was "flawed" as he liked to put it. So he was angry about that. I kept looking for tickets and when I’d find one, I’d hit select, begin to fill out the information and then the page would reload and tell me "Sorry, the selected flight you chose is now $$$$,$$$$$,$$$$" lol. It had literally TRIPPLED. It was insane. EVERY site was doing it too. I was having the worst luck. So I gave up and decided when I got home from work I would try it again fresh and in a better mood. But no, it kept happening on there too. I finally found a ticket on orbitz that would get me there at 2:10. Enough time to claim my baggaged, check into international flights with Delta, recheck my luggage and go to the terminal for my 4:50 flight. (It was cutting it close but I was there.) So I filled out the information, purchased the ticket and when I went to print my itinerary it shows the plane arriving at 4:05. I even went back and SAW the ticket I clicked on, and how it said my arrival was 2:10. SOoooooooooooooo

I called Orbitz, and he said that since I was attempting to get a purchase so close to midnight, since their systems update it must have caused a glitch or something. But he cancled that ticket and I got a full refund. I finally went to Northeast air and found a ticket at the best price that could be found. Filled out the information, picked my seats, and when I went to put in my credit card number, it took me back to the main NEA page! I was like WHAT!?!! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME??? I was so upset by this point, ready to give up hope of ever getting a ticket to NY….Mom went on her pc and started looking…I kept trying on NEA to find that flight and it was GONE.  So I was like FUDGE it, I am going to call this stupid company and yell andyell and yell. Lol, and not because I was angry at the operator, but because the whole situation was beyond annoying, beyond frustrating..So I dial the number and I start to click minimize, and guess what reloads on my screen?  The reservation I was filling out!!! With all my information I had entered, the seats I had picked and everything!! I was like WHAT??   So I bought that sucker!!!! Woke up THREE times to go over the reservation and make sure everything was okay with it, lol. Checked it this morning before class, and this afternoon before work, haha.

I have never, ever had so much trouble buying tickets before. It was insane. But we have the tickets. That WHOLE mess is over with as far as I am concerned. Something didnt want me to get a ticket. And I find it really hard to believe every site was constantly updating right as I was trying to get a ticket. But they all kept saying one thing then it would change like two seconds later…. So everything is squared away.

Wow, that wasn’t really humerous, that was pretty traumatic..lol…Murphy’s Law sucks…
