we all come home to think the same thoughts.
to sit on the same edges of our beds in silence,
staring blankly ahead
at ceilings and floors
and wonder where we’ve been
where we’re going
who we’ve loved
and why.
we all sit and ponder and think ourselves unique;
special;
different.
whether we realize it or not;
in breaths and sighs,
in songs and words,
in touches and glances;
moments of lucid thought
and confusion.
but when we really get at the heart of it all,
when we wrap our minds around it,
when we can really think outside ourselves,

we begin to see that the thing that truly makes us what we are
the thing that makes us unique and beautiful
the thing that makes us burn and blaze
is that we are all utterly and always the same.

the same.
