swing, swing, swing

This weekend = shway.

On Friday, CCM had their thanksgiving dinner, since we all won’t actually be here for the real thing.  it was delicious and a fun time was had by all.  Many good foods.  … I get TWO thanksgiving dinners!  i am one lucky duck!

After that, Adam and Rita put on the annual “skanksgiving” party.  haha.  Wow, I don’t think I’d make a good whore.  (Chelsea, on the other had would make $2,000 a night.  What is she doing in school?) But the dancing was fun …as was the fact that beer wasn’t the only thing to drink.  After that, me, Lisa, Becky, Matt and a few others headed over to Matt Morrell’s house where Bryan showed up, and we played mad crazy games of catch phrase.  We are wild ones, I tell you what.  I haven’t laughed so hard in quite a long time.  Matt made me a strawberry dacharrie, (my favorite, though I have no idea how to spell it, and neither does my spell check)  And that was most happy.  I got back to the dorm around 3:30 to find Chelsea sitting up knitting.  my friends are such insane party animals!  T’was fun evening all around.

Yesterday was the BEST.  I went to my first swing dance ever, at UVA.  (Yes, I know, UVA–*barf*, but the dance was sweet) I danced for 4 hours straight, with so many different people.  It was such great great fun.  I am addicted to swing now.  I’m getting really excited for next semester when I’ll get to go to advanced lessons on Thursdays, as well as the usual basics I’ve been going to all semester on Tuesdays.  Swing twice a week!  yay!  My favorite part about that dance was picking up style.  I *love* stylin it out.  I’m gonna need to teach Chris =).

Today was also a great day.  Wow.  What a weekend.  I slept in nice and late, and then got up at my own speed, and Gennie came up from tech and took me to lunch at Qdoba’s. mmmm… tortilla soup… then she headed out for Baltimore to meet my mom and dad and brother when they fly in for thanksgiving.  YAY! Thanksgiving is sooooo close!  I can almost taste the pumpkin pie.  After Gennie left, I had a good conversation with my mom, followed by a lovely conversation with my boy, and then a nice conversation with my Beth.  It’s good to hear from her.  I love good conversations with friends and family… I really needed that fix.  And now here I sit, knitting and listening to my old favorites, updating, and catching up on everyone’s ods/ljs.  What a chill day.  It’s a good thing I’m taking advantage of it; after thanksgiving, it’s gonna be 2 weeks of academic hell.  Anyone feel like taking my exams for me?  kthx.
