I’m Going To Be Awesomer Than Ever!

So, I’ve decided that I must become a counselor at my facility ASAP. In Echo building, a counselor let a man starve for two weeks saying that the man was a crazy violent moron instead of listening to what the man had to say. A man I work with, while posted there, took the time to find out that the man does not eat meat, and thus has not been eating his meals. All he needed was a vegetarian diet, which is easier for the facility to provide than a normal meal. The counselor in my own building is equally bad. The only word she can say, and based on her memos, spell, is NO. Detainees get nothing from her. Grr, makes me mad.

‘Sides that, I drove out to Chandler yesterday to pick up my nephew, so he could hang out with us for a while before I went to bed. On the way back, I decided to put the pedal to the metal when he said he’d never been in a car going over 70mph. At 102mph, a car popped out in front of us, and so I slowed down. Had that not happened, I would likely have gone to 120. Fun stuff.

We ate at Golden Corral, which is a delicious buffet. Our waitress was a girl that is 22 years old and has four kids already. She wants to be able to be young enough to enjoy them when they graduate from high school. Afterward, we looked at a couple of houses, none of which were as good as the one we’re buying.

That is all.

*random* Sounds like that agency could use a caring counselor like you. Too many people get human services jobs for the wrong reason and people suffer as a result. Good luck!

*random* As the parent of an adopted child who went through abuse like that in the system, I congratulate you on our intuition and drive to make things better.

*Random: Good for you for wanting to better where you work. That is horrible that, that man had to suffer because someone wouldn’t take the time to talk to him. Good luck.
