A Lesson In Parenting.

Just because your child will sleep, does not mean the child should sleep.

We put Cade to bed at about 7PM. He went right to sleep. No fuss, nothing. We talked about waking him soon when we realized he was sleeping longer than his usual nap. We did not wake him. At midnight, he woke up, wanting a bottle. That was okay, though it took a short while to get him back to sleep. The kicker was 4AM. He was up. Like, really up. I fed him, and then since it was dark out, I shut off all fo the lights and gave him a flashlight to play with. He has his own tiny one. He had a ball, and was using it to find his other toys on the floor. Yep, at seven months old, he’s doing things like this. Long story short, he finally crashed at around 6AM, and we slept until 8. I am very tired. Very.

If a nap goes over its usual time, wake the child. It will save your night.

Woo!
