[Music In My Head] Jann Arden – Weeds

So, it’s been quite some time since my last update. Let me fill you in on what’s going on. On August Thirteenth, I quit my job at the University of Phoenix. I lasted a year under conditions in which most people wouldn’t last a month, but I finally cracked when they removed resources I had earned. Suffice it to say, I am now jobless, though talking to Central Arizona College, and a temp at Toltec Elementary. But really, what is a temp?

In the mean time, my health insurance vanishes in another thirty-six hours or so, and I am likely to end up working in the Wal-Mart distribution center or back at UOP, but as a Financial Counselor. Messy, huh? We are also moving out to Casa Grande to live with Ron and Jody for a while. We want to buy land out there and have jobs there, and this is the best way we have to do it. Plus, we can spend some time removing our debt while helping them pay off their mortgage faster.

Shasta had surgery last Friday, to have her gallbladder removed. She’s been in pain since then while recovering, and I’ve been playing Mr. Mom. Let me tell you: I cannot wait to be working full-time again. It’s no wonder women have the mommy job, as men cannot handle it. Cade has been ill, with a fever and everything, and I pretty much wake at Five AM, entertain him until Nine PM, and then go to bed. This morning it started at Two AM. Shasta says I should work in the convalescent care industry, as I have a gentle but strong bedside manner. That is, until I failed to take my crazy pills Monday night and the next afternoon put my head through the wall. That’s the hazard of being a nutjob though. At least I’d never hurt another person with my antics. Especially my wife or son. Walls can be fixed, and by now I’m an expert.

I’ve been taking Cade on walks every night since I-don’t-know-when. It’s going to be odd doing that in the middle of nowhere when we move. I’ve already done it once, though. Just walked back and forth across Ron and Jody’s few acres of desert. I should post some of the pictures from some of our walks. He’s such a ham, he loves the camera. It’s funny, since he was born, I’ve been showing him every picture of him that I take. Now, when you point a camera at him, even a cell phone, he keeps looking at it until he hears it click.

He’s so smart. He’s figured out so much more than I’ve ever seen a normal baby do, and people that meet him outside are always surprised at how he carries himself. He’s a little man-boy. He’s still tall and skinny and insanely strong, too. If he grabs your fingers, and you lift your hand away from him, you can lift him right off of the ground, his grip is so strong.

I am planning on starting guitar lessons soon, once I’m making steady money again. I write songs so much, but can’t play them. I’ve probably got forty songs written. Such a waste if I don’t learn to play. Oddly enough, this was my wife’s suggestion. I’ve also taken to singing around her. It took Cade being born and me being able to sing to him to finally give me the confidence to sing around Shasta. She has since become quite a fan, she says I sing pretty. I think I sing like Steven Page.

Well, I must sign off for now, as my brain is starting to shut down on me, and I’ve got annoying honey on my arm(I just ate some bread with honey on it). I think I will in fact post Cade pictures, even tonight.
