October has fallen…

Time really does fly, and the fact that my birthday is just around the corner proves this year is flying by as well. I turn 44 at the end of the month, but I am still shocked that 2020 is just around the corner as well.  September was a pretty slow going month for me, as I spent most of it recovering from a very rough and busy summer. I’ve been suffering from some pretty bad fatigue, so work has been slow as have updates here on OD. I just don’t have the energy to do much, but I’m working on it. At least I’m trying to.

The kids are well, so there is nothing big to report on that side. There have been so many changes regarding my love life that I could dedicate a whole entry to it, which I plan on doing later this weekend. Lately dating me has felt like a spinning door in front of a hotel, with people going in circles and then just going away. It can be frustrating, but it sure beats staying home and moping about it. Wayne said you never score on the shots you don’t take, so I’d rather take a stab and miss rather than hesitate and wonder what if late at night. Not playing that game…

If it’s October, that means Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) is just around the corner. For the 14th year in a row, I am going to participate and hope for a better result than the shit showing I gave last year. For the first time last year, I failed to pass 50,000 words… and while I could just blame the stoke I had, a lot of the blame has to go to picking the wrong project. My heart just wasn’t it, and that can make all the difference in the world. I’m gonna spend the next few weeks going over ideas and trying to find the right match for this year’s Nano. If I can find the right project, I can get back into the winner’s circle again.

Speaking of winners, I saw the new Joker movie last weekend and it was fucking magnificent! It is a serious Oscar contender, and in a rather weak year… it’s got a good chance of winning too! Ignore what the media and critics say, this move was old school dark, with a serious Taxi Driver vibe to is and not a single CGI scene to be found! What an amazing movie, and I highly recommend it!

I’ve got some big news to share but I plan to keep this card close to my vest. I might wait until my 44th birthday on the 28th. I’ve got some cool plans for the big day, with someone special. I don’t want to jinx it, so I’ll get into details later.

Everyone take care, and happy October!

Peter

This Nano thing…is there a good chance that this book could be published and you win one of those awards for the best book?  Then you will be really famous and be on the New York times best seller list.  Glad life is going good  for you and you have found that special someone…..
