have you ever been spiritual?
have you ever
disappeared into yourself, into the base
of your spine,
into the space in your chest
and clutched your own heart as it beat quickly?
have you ever felt like an unchained melody?
have you ever prayed?

have you ever–
-been part of the cosmos?
-counted stars from your window and confused them with your tears?
-felt an invisible hand in your soul?

i have been
split open with  my eyes closed, electified, warmed, soothed, cooled, understood without speaking a word.

i try not to preach but:  i can tell you that i am never alone.
