Tweet like you mean it
Most often, social media is a narcissistic filled waste of time. When it’s used correctly and to it’s full potential, it’s a very powerful thing
While getting ready for a big All Staff meeting this morning, my phone rang, number I didn’t recognize. I let it roll to voice mail and didn’t think much about it. During the meeting, I looked at the voicemail transcript, didn’t really seem that important
After my meeting, my phone rang again, same number. It was someone from the Jiffy Lube district office. District manager Saul said that he received all the tweets, and social media posts at their office and wanted to make things right for me
Well…isn’t that something?
He said that they called the dealership, they confirmed the damage was covered by the warranty however there was definitely an overfill of oil, but regardless of the cause of the engine failure, Jiffy Lube was very sorry for my inconvenience and wanted to repay me
I told him to be clear, a lot more went into this month dealing with my car than just a rental car and out of pocket expenses. They are lucky that I didn’t turn this into a civil case or I would OWN Jiffy Lube
He said to send him all the receipts, and any other photos, etc. and that he would get the reimbursement approved. Just shy of $1,000
He then said he doesn’t want to lose me as a customer. Should I ever change my mind, call him and he’ll come with me to make sure I had exceptional service. I said, never in countless lifetimes would I take my car there and in fact, I would tell anyone that would listen to not go there. I said I would go so far as not even drive NEAR one, that’s how much I want to avoid going there
I guess the check is in the mail?
wow…you must really have horse shoes or something that gives you good luck…..Most companies want to do the right thing but you always have to go to the very top because the ones below are just yahoo’s and don’t or say they can’t do much…..
I am glad that you are getting your money back and I bet they will give you a huge big discount the next time you go…But I know you won’t go…..
@jaythesmartone I have tweeted literally every couple of hours, tagging Jiffy Lube in my tweets. Posting pictures of the damage, of Sugar suffering in the heat, just going to town on them. I posted a negative review on Yelp, I have used every social media outlet to my advantage. You’re right, usually the yahoo doesn’t know how to help, but this one apparently did. We’ll see if I actually get that check
