Mean People Rule

At the end of the day, I still like people. Don’t get me wrong, people are shit. I’m not always sad when people die (But Brittany was alright in 8 Mile). It seems like every day people are inventing hundreds of new ways to either fuck things up or be assholes.

But still, I think we’re neat. If nothing else, we’re still the most interesting thing in the universe as we know it. Sure, quasars are magnificent awe-inspiring marvels of nature and eternity, but they can’t hold your attention the way people do. Nobody writes novels about quasars. What would you say? It just kept burning?

Besides, they still have nothing on the endless source of fascination that mankind provides the cosmos. We’re the only thing for lightyears that knows that it’s there, and it screws with our heads so badly, driving us to behavior that can range from saintly to satanic. Not knowing where we go afterwards, if anywhere, after this doesn’t help either. What is life but finding your own way to cope with the idea that you’ll be dead someday? 

People are fucking priceless, and I hope we never go away. Sure, we’re awful, but that’s just part of our charm.
