Things to love yet about winter!

I can tell immediately when I wake up if it has snowed outside, because sound of cars driving by is muffled by snow.

Winter sports: ice skating, snowshoeing, sledding, cross-country and downhill skiing, skijoring, making snow angels.

It’s late February!  The worst is over!  Days are getting longer and the sun is higher in the sky.

Build a snowman.

Great photography opportunities.

Fresh snow always hides the dirt and makes everything look pretty.

Embrace the indoors and spend an afternoon making chicken stock and doing puzzles.

I love how, in winter, the white blankets so much that you notice the details and color that spring and summer overshadow:  the rust color of the leaves remaining on the oak tree, how green evergreens look, everything looking like it has been doused with 5-gallon buckets of marshmallow creme.
