sparkle with the light
reflected from that incandescent smile.
that smile belongs to the team.
she does not.
her own grin still remains
as she watches and uplifts,
wanting to join, yet hesitant.
will this cheerleader ever be a part of the game?
or be damned to remain the support?
she’ll be waiting,
pom-poms in hand,
the praise in her voice,
in her centre, the sport.
