Living Good

Colbalt loves his new tank. Seriously it took him some time to realize that he didn’t have to stay in a little section, but he seems to love this one corner of the tank. He needs some "toys" though. Toys is my word for tank decor. Can’t afford it for a while, I go crazy with tank decor. One of these days I’ll get the 144 gallon half circle 2 pump tank I want. Maybe by the time I’m 30. I love fish tanks! He’s so happy swimming back and forth. I couldn’t keep a fish trapped in a little bowl just because it’s sold in that. What type of life is that? Plus the fact that technically your supposed to have a gallon of water per inch, per fish. So he’s need at least 2 gallons to get proper oxygen levels. I’d love to get another, but I know they’d fight.

they make normal-sized tanks with glass dividers in them so that you can keep one betta on one side and another betta on the other

He would be violent toward a female as well. Bettas are kind of morons.. also, a divided tank like what Jen is describing is for showing Bettas, not keeping them. They wouldn’t sleep well or eat well because they would be too concerned that they were going to get beaten up by the males beside them. Sorry, Im kind of a betta fruitcake. Jim and I plan to breed show bettas when I get some money and some time, I used to breed guppies (who didn’t?) and I miss it.

Oh, if you want to spoil the crap out of him, get a brine shrimp setup. It should set you back about 10 bucks, you can grow “sea monkeys” and then let them go in Cobalt’s tank. He will hunt them and munch them 🙂 and then they will die because they need saltwater and will gunk up the tank and good times will be had by all.
