This Is Why I’m Proud

I’ve always been a strong supporter of the military. I support their cause in this war. These soldiers believe in what they are fighting for. If not, so many wouldn’t have volunteered. They came in droves. Older service men and women (like my BIL) served this nation proudly for 20 years, and continue after retirement. I could not do what they do, and I’m thankful that these brave people have the courage to do, what I cannot. They are risking their lives every day for our safety, and they believe in the fight. I will not shun that, or degrade their beliefs. I will not turn a back to what their cause is.

I’m so sick of hearing people bitch about an oil war. Okay maybe that is what Bush wants, No one knows but him, but the soldiers fighting the fight believe that we cannot stand down. When Bush first proclaimed war, everyone was gung ho. It’s been five years. I still remember the 5,000 + people who died. Five years seems miniscule to the time those people who died lost.  I choose to have faith, and believe that this war is about fighting for our country, and defending ourselves against futher attacks like those in New York.

This is the phamplet from my BIL’s retirement. I’ve always meant to post it, but never did. The rememberance of those soldiers who fought, who died, all who lost their lives along the way. I will not belittle their deaths.

Chris and Wes have a different last name. Same mom, different father’s. Chris is Jess and Sandra’s only child together. Sandra has 4 more including Wes, from her previous marriage, before she was widowed. Jess has three other kids besides Chris, but they don’t ever call.

This is Wes’ biography of his career. It’s amazing how much he’s done for this country. Below that is a list of a few of the awards he ‘s received. Where it says Korea, that’s where he got the truck he gave us. He bought it for 50 bucks there.

There are many more men and women like Wes. I’m proud of that, as an American, and as his family.
