Argue This *pics*

The report came back from the Earth Science Engineer’s, and it is their professional opinion that our house is fucked. They weren’t so blunt and to the point about it, very formal in the letter they sent us, but I like my explanation better. Thank goodness we have sinkhole insurance. Which is kinda sad that we would even need it. Although Chris found a website, that shows the entire town is basically one giant sinkhole waiting to happen. Nice.

Chris’s truck died as he was pulling into work this morning. It’s in the shop for now. Hopefully we will have it back by Wednesday.

Life is good though, and Chris and I are still positive that these are blessings in disguise.

Ooh, And pictures, so you can get the full scope of the sinkhole thing.

This is our basement floor. Cracking and spidering. The crack runs all through the basement floor.

Another sinkhole starting. Who knows how big that one is.

The sloping in the yard, Chris was scared to cut the grass, it’s gotten huge now. The yard slopes up and down across.

The cracking of the pavement.

The walls are starting to crack. The house is only 6 years old.

Inside the sinkhole again

The hole has gotten bigger.

The fenceline is sagging down and inward in places.

More wall cracking

And the reason that’s probably causing the sinkholes to progess so quickly. The two CITY drainage pipes surrounding our house. Why Sandra picked this house, I have no clue.

This is a sinkhole in our neighbors yard. It’s actually our yard, but apperently the last owners mistook the blueprints and built the fence wrong, and shorted themselves. We aren’t that picky about it, we have plenty room, and we aren’t willing to pay for the fence to be moved. Pipe number 1 is to the left past this picture.

City pipes number two and three

And city pipe number 4 right in our direction.

Yeah, Insurance company doesn’t really have a choice on this one. They can either pay and fix the sinkholes, and then we’ll sell, or they can condemn this one, and we’ll move. Can anyone say short and curly’s?

Please leave at least a name.

My whole neighborhood in Florida was built on a sink hole. We got the heck out of there! This is nuts. I’m glad the insurance is going to take care of it.

wow. That is so freaky.

omfg, girl….it’s like you have giant gophers eating the ground underneath you! Damn…I’d be afraid to walk around in the yard for fear I’d disappear in some kind of freakish accident, where I’d end up living underground with trolls that have a small shine in my image, and then I’d have to be their queen. They would make a day in my honour where everyone would have gravy and get the day off though, so that’s not too bad. Maybe I come visit you…lol.
