Era In Time

I’m a modern girl. I live in the world of tommorrow.  I love 95% of technology.  I have a computer, a television, and I drive a sleek little sedan. But I wonder if I was born in the wrong time. I would have loved to be a woman in the 60’s. Granted that would have made me an old woman by now, but I would take it. To be twenty-one in an era of such passion. Filled with fights for freedoms, and women’s rights movements. I would’ve totally rocked the hippie lifestyle. To a tee. I can’t believe I actually found a man to settle down with. I am so about women’s rights it’s insane. I would be that one outta sight chick, chanting on the corner, with the long brown hair, tie-dye shirt, long flowing bellbottoms, holding a sign with some derogatory comment towards men. I tell you I’m one fired up chick on women’s rights. I would be rockin’ the VW Bug Van with a mural on the side, probably something with naked women, or  bra burning, something inflamatory. With love bead curtains, and a waterbed in the back. My place would have been filled with love too. Crazy wait paint, a bar, black lights and lava lamps. Probably a couple pot plants growing in the back room. I wouldn’t be too crazy on my  movements, most likey just a local chick in a big city. Although there’s another avenue I’ve never explored. A traveling hippie…no, no I think not. But road trips a-plenty. Hopping in that VW van and trucking across states, just to rally at some movement. New york, Chicago, San Fran, wherever. It seemed so free, and so much more laid back, back then. In today’s world, anything you touch, smell, taste, or see can give you cancer, or some other fatal/untreatable disease. I hate living in a world like this. It just seems like a grander time, like a funner time. Something to remember and cherish.

So one day when I’m 60 something I wonder if there will be a 20 something on Open Diary, writing about a period in my time that they missed, something I cherish and remember. I wonder if there will be an era in which I fall in love with.

This is awesome…I think about this sometimes too. But I would have wanted to live even earlier. TO be a pioneer for women’s suffrage. Or to be the first women scientist. I hope you have been doing well. xoxo
