Satire of the Day
Writen below is political satire I heard on the radio yesterday. I found it and thought I’d post it here. There is a lot of similarity to the 23rd Psalm. In fact the Psalm’s poetic format is borrowed in making this witty poem, a parody if you will.
Obama is my shepherd
I shall not want
He leadeth me beside still Factories
He restoreth my faith in the Republican Party
He guideth me in the path of unemployment
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall not go hungery.
Obama has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over my incom,
Surely, poverty and hard living
will follow me all the days of my life,
The Democrats and I will live forever in a rented home,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog
And Obama was a tree.
The purpose of this parody is to poke fun of the socialistic president (P-Bo) that now resides in the White House. The "Obama is my shepherd" is not the Word of God and is not equated to that level. It is the irony of how people seem to put their trust in the Political Jesus.
Here is the true Psalm 23 and this is the True Word of God in which my faith is put into The Lord is my Shepherd.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall
not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
