Appreciated

i have been gone from work for nearly three weeks. in that time, the guys who were to fill in for me were not able to commit to 8 hours a day in this building. And we knew that because they also have to work elsewhere on campus. Plus they were short another guy who decided to go on vacation last minute for the same two weeks i was gone for my baby’s birth. So now they are down two people. And a third person was suspended from work for three days during my 2nd week gone. So they were not able to keep it as clean. For instance, the stair wells were not swept and mopped for the whole time.

And now I am picking my way through the building brining it back to where it needs to be. I’m not too upset because I understand their situation. Also because these guys who were able to come up here weren’t all that familiar with this building.

As a result, I know that my co-workers and boss are glad i’m back.

But what is really a good feeling is that I have heard from other staff that work in this building that they appreciate that I am back to work and that the building is beginning to take shape again. That makes me feel good about what I do here and that it is noticed.

Well, I need to go back to doing my daily routine now.
